I don't take any type of anti-dep / anti-anxiety meds and I've had my share of life's problems too. Most people don't need them. Go the natural route. ;)
There's a personality type (likely more than one) in which if unhappy, it seeks to make others unhappy, rather than solving the root cause of the unhappiness. It's a really odd behavior; self-defeating.
Toss in some anti-anxiety / anti-depressants which, for many, cause other mental stability issues and voila, now they are recommending those same meds to their friends so they can also be angry, depressed, lonely, etc.
Misery loves company, as they say.
