I found this document while browsing rpg codex and thought this information should be shared. It's an article written by hiromasa Iwasaki (in English) about a super gamer/journalist/designer/anime importer/teacher who shaped how most rpgs are designed, including jrpgs. I found this article that was posted by the user "Grauken" in the ultima thread. (post number 1807).

TLDR: Ultima and wizardry are crpgs that influenced jrpgs. The creator of Ultima, Richard Garriot didn't give credit to the guy who designed Ultima 4 which was a groundbreaking achievement in gameplay/story structure that is still copied today. Roe R. Adams III is a name anyone who enjoys rpgs should know. Japanese gamers know him because Mr Adams because his work was translated in Japanese. This same guy founded AnimEigo.
