Do not allow games to be customized with your own images in the library.
Its a bad idea, and I wont explain it either.

Heh... that's good and all but without context or anything... Well, not sure I understand the problem.

Here's hoping Valve does but I sure don't.

If you right click a game and go to Options > Properties, and click Customization you can edit the images for the library game that you currently have, and if someone were to access your account and find iilegal material or content they could upload those pictures to said library game and make it look like that account owner intentionally uploaded them. Iilegal content could be anything that's against the law.

But theres also the good side of things! For instance you could design your own Artwork for said library game and make it look more awesome or pretty.

The concept of it is fantastic! I don't want to make a good feature look bad, but the security of the feature itself is very not okay for people, and in general. And I don't like bashing Valve or Steam for what they do but this is a problem that I see in the future for people.

You do know that those are locally stored and not saved in the cloud, right?

Only the person who uploaded it on their PC will see it. It doesn't sync with your PC.

Problem solved!

So the issue with customizing the art... is a user who isn't taking care to ensure the security of their account?

It's a stretch.

Thankfully, if push comes to shove and Valve is probed for "ciminal activity" on an account... The police will have all the data they need to know it isn't you...

Not even mentioning you'd need to get hijacked in the first place which requires from you to be sloppy. And if you are sloppy... well... I'd be more worried about my email/social accounts than I ever would be about my Steam account.

That's even better!

The amount of times I have to copy over that .\Steam\userdata\<id3>\config\grid\*.* file from my main PC to my HTPC and to my Steam Deck manually is quite annoying.

I don't think even Evil Knievel can make that jump.

He would still try. That man was crazy.

Edit: I see some posts have magically vanished.

And people wonder why Steam prevented people from deleting their own threads
Just want to apologize to everybody for making this thread, I'm deeply sorry for removing my posts and also as well as just in general for my overall lack of understanding. I removed my post because I didn't want anybody getting the wrong idea about the feature and I hope that you all can forgive me.

It's all good.
