If you're at all on the fence about this game, please just make the dive like I did. I was expecting a Subnautica-esque romp in space with a great soundtrack. What I got was so, so much more. It's worth saying that the less you know about Outer Wilds going in the better, but I'd still give the following general tips:

1) The game recommends playing with a controller, but that's largely for more delicate controls for one section in particular . You'll recognise it when you come to it. I managed just fine with mouse and keyboard though, so ultimately you can use whichever you prefer.

2) The "Archaeologist Edition" adds a DLC side story, Echoes of the Eye (EotE), that is well worth the additional asking price. As was recommended to me however, I'd personally say it's worth finishing the main story at least once and then continuing with the EotE content to get the most out of what it adds. Again however, the choice is yours.

3) Take your time, enjoy the experience, smell the trees etc. This is definitely one of those games that deserves to be appreciated rather than just rinsed through in a weekend. Also depending on your setup, it definitely benefits from a good pair of headphones/speakers to enjoy the as mentioned incredible soundtrack by Andrew Prahlow.

Genuinely one of my favourite gaming experiences ever and something I can only wish I could forget to enjoy it like new all over again.
