Baldur’s Gate 3 reminds me why I fell in love with this hobby 30 years ago. It’s not just an incredible video game—it’s an incredible PC game. This is the kind of title that keeps you up way too late, staring at the glow of your monitor, telling yourself you’ll just do “one more thing” before bed. It’s easily one of the best games ever made.

Poetics aside, BG3 is a must‑play for anyone who loves cRPGs, is curious about D&D, or even just wants to see what all the fuss is about. You’re dropped into a living, breathing world where your choices matter. The journal might say your goal is to “Find a Cure,” when you first step foot on the Sword Coast, but the real objective is exploring, experimenting, and following whatever feels right in the moment.

When it launched, some developers and publishers tried to dismiss BG3 as an outlier—arguing that expectations should be tempered because they couldn’t possibly be expected to make a game as good as Larian did. That’s nonsense. This game is worth your time, worth supporting, and it’s raised the bar whether others like it or not.
