I would reccomend giving Empyrion Galactic Survival a look, however it is more focused on survival rather than building, Avorion has an excellent building system that in some aspects is better than StarMade's but at the moment Avorion is a bit content lacking other than the building but its better then StarMade in my opinion.

Read your Starmade review, I already have the game but haven't played in awhile so was trying to see what's up with it. Is there anything you recommend as an alternative? Really loved the ship building and systems in StarMade but I don't want to play a game that's going to be dead.
