As far as story goes, I enjoy the premise. It's a fun story despite my personal takes. It had more potential if it utilized already established elements and fan theories, rather than trying to introduce an entirely new big bad of the cosmos, but we will see where it goes! That said, one major gripe is that an entire THIRD of the map is built but wholly inaccessible. You get to play on a portion of it near the final mission, but even then you can't even explore it entirely, and outside of that mission you can't even TOUCH that island. Huge waste of space.

For my BIGGEST complaint about this game, it is a HUGE afterthought in the grand scope of things. They built this game to be multiplayer-centric. At it's core Halo has always been story driven and had huge emphasis on CO-OP and LAN parties. Multiplayer was always an important addition, but it was never the only important element. 343 dropped the ball entirely on this front. The campaign is massively under-optimized for multiplayer. Glitches galore, stuck loading screens, and more. For a game series that built itself on community, this is a massive MASSIVE disappointment. It is now abandon-ware as they don't care to fix their flaws and update the campaign. They got what they wanted and they decided to screw the community in favor for it's battlepass lootbox multiplayer. I am unsure whether to blame the devs or simply the suits in control of them, but the fact remains that an entire core element that made Halo what it was is all but missing in this installment. I am a huge huge fan of the Halo universe, but this is so incredibly bad to play with friends you might as well not bother. Only play for SOLO intentions, it's at least playable then.

Wrong game and unplayable performance!

Like the many reviews before, I too am adding my displeasure to the lot. I got the game as part of a bundle because I love me some Splinter Cell. Had a hankering to play the games again so I figured why not this one too. Screenshots and picture advertisements display this game as the Xbox Original variant of the game. Even the creator/publishers are credited to the Original game, furthering the illusion that it is the original version. This very much is not. It is 100% false advertising and is in-fact the Xbox 360 variant of the game.

Despite the difference in game variance, I like both. I do think the original is objectively better but that is not important for a review. What IS important, however, is talking about the gameplay of the game provided. The PC port of this Xbox 360 Double Agent version is very poor. From minor lighting glitches, to frequent crashes, to core game mechanics being permanently glitched. Like many others, the mission in Shanghai showcases this in two major parts.

Part 1) near the beginning, after rappelling down the skyscraper, you have to shimmy along the ledge and eventually climb your way up a vent. Game play wise, an enemy is supposed to open the vent, look over, and then you are given a prompt to grab and pull him out. This can not happen as he always sees you before even opening the vent. Sees you after opening the vent. Sees you just walking TO the vent. Never able to actually stealth in and pull him over like intended. Makes it pretty hard to continue as this is the only way forward and there is no way to combat him while hanging on a ledge.

Part 2) Trying to continue on, other bugs and annoying glitches. Whatever. The major part is now at a specific location, the game attempts to load the next area and just crashes. Every time. Thus, making the game entirely unplayable as no further progress can literally be made.

In all, horrible port for a horribly advertised game. Love the game themselves, but Ubisoft and Steam did them dirty for PC.

One of the best Spider-man games to date. The open world feels much more like the good ol' PS2 spider man days. Spontaneous crime to swing too and deal with, no loading screen in-between each little crime. Super fun and satisfying swinging mechanics. Wall crawling has some room for improvement, but otherwise, so much of this is great. Wide access to suits, powers, and a very agile spider-man. DLCs are fun, too. And the best part is genuinely the main story. It is all around amazing!

I have waited to make my own personal review until the release of Campaign. Now that it is here, and I have played some good hours and beaten it once already, I have some thoughts that I'm willing to share.

Firstly, the game is astounding. It is very much a Halo game. From movement, to feel, to music. The design choices and visuals all feel like a really solid Halo game. With a twist. It's an open world! For being completely different in the form of mostly linear maps since the dawn of Halo, this is a huge breath of fresh air while still feeling like the beloved old friend that it is. Multiplayer is also very good and it just feels *right*. It's Halo. The story is great. The execution, fantastic. The campaign is phenomenal. The length feels right for a Halo game. Now if you just buckle down and do only missions, it may feel quick. But if you take your time inbetween missions. Fight the Banished in the open world. Do the side objectives and become the hero the game makes you want to be, then that adds several more hours to the length of the game. However, like everything in the world, there is no such thing as perfect. It does have some flaws, some of which might be my own opinion and others being a widely accepted fault.

First off, the map in the campaign isn't entirely available. There is roughly an entire third of the map you simply can not explore. That is a huge bummer and mildly frustrating. It's oen thing to have scenery in the background, it's another to have it available within the map itself. Place down markers. Have a couple missions take place in it and even an enemy stronghold associated with those missions. I looked forward to exploring there after reaching it via missions and beating the game therafter, but as I have found out, this is not the case. A disappointment to say the least. On the bright side, there still is a ton of map to explore. Just don't trust a third of what it shows.

Secondly. There is no option to replay missions as of the time of writing this review. If you missed collectibles, wanted to play particular favorite a couple times, or goof around with skulls once you found them, it is not as simple as being able to load up a completed game and selecting what you want to do. You will have to start a new game, each time, with the settings you have in mind, and play through the whole game just to get to that point you originally wanted.

Thirdly. Vehicle and Weapon variety feels a little slim. While all that is in the game is mostly solid, aside from one or two personal opinions, it just doesn't feel like there is much variety. For every UNSC asset, there should be an equal and opposite Banished/Forerunner variant.

Lastly, some praise it and others loathe it. The customization within the game for multiplayer. Some is great, while others it took a step backwards. Vehicle and weapon customization is A+. Spartan is 50/50. The armor variety and designs are spectacular. Though it feels limited because you can no longer mix and match. If you are both a fan of the ODST shoulders, but also love some of the chest pieces the MK 7 offers, well you best decide which you like more because you can't have both.
Additionally, the color pallets are hit and miss. I understand the mechanics they have implemented makes it difficult to return to the old ways, but not being able to pick individual colors is a bummer. No longer is there a primary, secondary, etc. color pallet. If you like this color as primary, and a different as secondary, you best hope they have a pre-designed color pallet that fits your needs, and that you have it unlocked. As time progresses, more options will become available and this issue might be mitigated, but I feel it is lack luster. I do however enjoy the camo patterns that you can use as a base.
In a similar vein, emblems is a step backwards. No longer can you pick and chose which two styles you like, and the colors to go with it. There is no background/foreground option. Only pre-designed emblems and color pallets. While they do blend more seamlessly and mesh better as a whole, the personality the customization allowed reaches a bit farther than what is currently implemented. And if you like some of the armor to add on to your Spartan, be wary as it can hide the emblem and you won't get to show it off. Design teams didn't think to incorporate the emblem on armor attachments, which is a shame.

For all it's faults, most of them are truly superficial. The campaign elements will hopefully get patched soon, but if that is the worse case scenario, then the future of Halo is looking bright. They got so much of it right and the love can really be seen in this creation. I look forward to many many MANY more hours of Halo!

Excellent free-to-play game! The starter weapons are very solid, and nearly everything essential is achievable with hard work in-game! My only two gripes would be the player bases and how excruciating it is to earn enough "certs" to unlock each piece, being a mostly solo player, and the clan resources. Only way to earn resources is to be the one to "capture" a territory, but that has nothing to do with how much work you put into actually capturing it, in my experience. It instead simply means, "be the one with the most clan members in the area at the time of capture" REALLY sucks when I solo cap half way then a large clan swoops in and steals it. But beyond those two things, the game as a whole is very fun and is great for hopping in at anytime and just having a ball.

It's Halo, but for PC. Plain and simple as that. With each iteration, every port from console to PC is getting smoother and smoother. Yes some things can change, but all in all. This is the same Halo from the good ol' days. Nostalgia mixed with some sprinkling of new elements. I get to relive my favorite game and still get the occasional surprise. I love this very much.
