I think the navigation/mapping/exploration mechanic is interesting and has potential. But the minute to minute gameplay of fighting, mining, etc. is completely uninteresting and unfun. Animations are very floaty, sound effects are limited and unsatisfying, enemy AI is minimal and without personality. Similarly placing stations and decorations on your boat sounds great but actually interacting with the system feels weird and janky.

Fun game with some novel mechanics. Short & sweet and not much replayability.

Early Access Review
Substantially lower quality than ARK: Survival Evolved. And that was a low bar to clear.

Did not get very far. The game plays a bit too much like a floaty asset flip. Cutscenes are slow and uninteresting. Configuration options are a bit lacking.

Game of the year 2024! Satisfactory is a masterpiece, every aspect is finely crafted and tuned to be a joy to play. Playing this game you really feel the deftness and polish as the complexity gently unfolds. There is always another tool you learn to use and the considered and helpful UI is especially stand out for me. Other video games genres really need to look to Satisfactory and the handful of other really great "factory" games for a lesson in the craft of video games.

The combination of city builder and rogue-lite mechanics is inspired and a generational shift. I love how they mesh these genres to raise the stakes and encourage risk taking while equally allowing the player to choose their own difficulty.

Of course they nailed the execution as well with a large variety of fun city building mechanics and a theme that is interwoven so well it feels effortless.

Very fun and chill exploration and building game. Plenty of mysteries and surprises and I love the art style and the combination of round and fully modifiable planets.

DRG is a legend. One of the greatest co-op games of all time. Must like dwarfs.

Excellent survival game. Base building is straightforward and accessible but also allows for plenty of creativity and expression if you want it to. Resource gathering and hunting for upgrades is satisfying and highly tweakable.

I’ve found some people bounce off the cooldown based combat which is somewhat unique to this game. So it could require some practice and experimentation but once it clicks I find combat to be precise and well balanced with plenty of challenge to provide that highly rewarding feeling of overcoming adversity.

The premier feature is the boss fights. On that mark this game absolutely delivers in spades. There are over 60 unique boss fights and the end game also includes high level remixes of them. Each of the 60+ bosses is truly unique and has interesting mechanics. Other survival games I’ve played have maybe 5 or at most 10 boss fights and none of which are as memorable.

Generally the boss fights are much easier in co-op and of course any survival game is more fun with friends. But I have enjoyed and soloed the entire game as well. Brutal difficulty boss fights have entirely new mechanics and for some even have entire additional surprise phases so I can definitely recommend that mode as well if you either liked normal or want a major challenge upfront.

It's okay, fairly novel puzzle/action game. At times the controls felt very frustrating and clunky. In those cases the levels felt more about fighting the controls than the puzzle or action aspects.
