I came into this game blind not knowing or ever hearing about it. It seemed like something I could sink my teeth into thinking it to be a simple and straight forward experience. Having some hours put into it thus far, I can say the game went deeper than I thought offering interesting RPG mechanics and stunning visuals along with fun pirate lore you can read as you find books upon your travels. Is the game simple? Well, yes, but in a good way. If you are an elder scrolls fan, you will like this. The game gives Windwaker meets elder scrolls exploration layered with Sea of Thieves and Subnautica aesthetics then sprinkled with light dreamcore vibes. The ocean is beautiful, the sunsets are beautiful, even the combat is oddly chill. Great game to unwind and wonder around without feeling the need to commit too heavily.

Pros:
- Exploration, guild variety, crafting, loot variety, fish variety, activities, travel, sunsets/sunrises.

- Ships are straight forward but are easy to navigate and there's a decent amount of tools to help you travel around.

- The game is generous with the hunger mechanic and oxygen when exploring underwater

Cons:
- The music is fine, could use a bit more piratey vibes

- Sometimes lags a bit when generating islands, but its not too bad.

- The NPCs are a little dull, but are not really the focus here anyway. If you ever played Morrowind, it has that vibe a bit but with much less text and lore thrown into it.

Overall, good stuff, better than I expected. If you need something to relax and wonder around in, this game is perfect for that.

The game is fantastic, and it's clear that the developers poured their hearts in to it. I do have a couple of suggestions for improvement: removing the distance lock in multiplayer and allowing players to enter instances independently. This change would greatly enhance the gaming experience overall, I'm impressed with the game and appreciate the Developers hard work, my hat is off to you all.

I don't know what to say about this one.

After Atlas, I thought this game was like that one. If the description wasn't so misleading, I wouldn't have bought it. This game is NOT like Atlas. You don't get to build it like you can in Atlas. It isn't realistic. This game is very simple, very basic. Everything you do is the "F", "F", "F", key. No meat, no substance. It's a childish, Y-lands looking game. That's all I see as soon as I log into it. It doesn't GRAB my interest like Planet Crafter does either and that one was developed by two people too. It's just a matter of preference. And I prefer something with a LOT more substance. I can't even stay interested long enough to get off the starter island.

I even re-installed Salt 2 just so I could re-try playing it. And nope. It still isn't my "thing".

So, eh, it depends on what you're looking for. Some people might like this game. But it isn't for me.

And, yes, the developer did misunderstand what I'm trying to say. Seemingly on purpose.
