Willkommen (Welcome)

This is a group where I take suggestions for workshop items, then review them in Livestreams for the creators benefit. My goal is to help improve the Portal 2 workshop in what ever ways I can, first and foremost by providing feedback on individuals work. It's my way of giving to a community that as of late hasn't been doing so well. It's up to all of us to help one another improve, and if you're interested in improving your mapping skills, then you've come to the right place. Together we can overcome whatever obstacles we find and in the process put out much better levels than before.

All are welcome to join, even if you don't want to request maps to be played, you can still pick up tips for your own maps, or just hang out and watch the live streams.

Hammer Remake Competition (Inactive)

Greetings all, I would like to announce that every month there will be a competition where I will select a map to remake in hammer in a style of your choice (of the ones I give you for the test, depending what testing elements it has, it may not be fit for certain themes, like an excursion funnel in the 50's, it just doesn't work, big reason being there is no model for it). All you have to do is submit a map you've made that month to the special thread for consideration, at the end of each month I'll play all submitted maps and rank them for who has the best puzzle. Visual design efforts will also be taken into consideration, but the puzzle is naturally the most important thing. If you've ever wanted to see a puzzle of yours look like it came straight out of Portal 2, there has never been a better opportunity to have it happen.

1 map per user per month please, and only place it in one thread (i.e. if you suggest it in the p2 map suggestions thread, don't suggest it to the RemakeMe thread and vice versa). If you aren't sure about a map, don't suggest it, you only get 1 chance per month, so be sure to use it wisely. As an added bonus, the winner of each month's competition gets to choose a few mandatory (or forbidden) elements for the next month (within reason of course).

Deadline for each month will be 11:59:59pm for each timezone (so it's fair for everyone) if you cut it close, be sure to put your timezone with your submission, so that I know for sure you made it on time. The winner will also be dubbed player of the week (or "mapper of the month" as we'll call it). I recommend you have a few different ones playtest your map ahead of time so that you can be sure to have any possible bugs worked out.

One last sidenote just in case anyone is unsure, entries should be PTI maps as it's pretty redundant to remake an already all hammer map in hammer (hammer maps in p2 map requests is still fine of course). I look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Update: As of February 2017 the competitions will be bi-monthly (having a two month duration instead of just one) until or unless I get more help remaking the chambers, especially now that I'm working. It's a lot of work and it starts to drag after a while, I'm hoping that spreading them out will keep me from burning out as fast so I can keep the competition going.
That being said, if you know how to use hammer reasonably well, let me know if you are interested in working with me on remaking the tests. You can even still submit a test to the competition if you want, the two will be viewed separately.
