There was no reason to kill steam roleplaying in order to punish scammers.

A group dedicated to raising awareness of the removal of the /me command due to it's abuse by a small number of scammers taking advantage of those who don't know about the command's existence.

For those of you who don't know, the /me command was removed recently because few scammers were using it to fake steam system messages and scam people.

/me is a chat command that allows you to communicate in the third person.

Instead of
Gordon3465: waves hello.
By typing "/me waves hello" in the chatbox it would come out like this
Gordon3465 waves hello.

This is a much smoother, cleaner option that looks nicer in chats and allows you to clearly locate these messages instead of looking for asterisks. steam has a massive roleplaying community and this is nearly essential for them but they are being punished because somone on the forums happened to complain about a few scammers using it.

We know that the developers think that removing this feature was the best thing to do, but we know they're wrong. We believe that this has been just an easy workaround, and that the best solution would have been to warn, inform, and to mantain the classic professional behavior that has always identified Valve as one of those few "Okay Companies".
We know there isn't much to discuss, but we want to show you how many we are.
