Valve, fix the pyro!

The groups main focus is to make Valve realize that the recent pyro update was a major nerf and not only made the class unplayable, but yet made it very situational and underpowered.


What did the update do?
- Weakened the Flamethrowers damage by 20%
- Weakened afterburn damage by 40%
- Airblast cost reduced to 20
- Airblast Rate of Fire increased by 25%
- Reflected projectiles now deal mini-crits


What were Valves intentions?
According to Robin Walker, it was supposed to raise the skill ceiling of the pyro class. In general they tried to balance the pyro but left further changes open.


What did they achieve?
The pyro has turned into a mere supportive class. His primary weapon has the lowest damage output of all classes, including medic, engineer and spy.
Airblast, a secondary function was turned into the main one. A utility function which is only good for fighting soldiers or supporting your team. It does not take any skill to do a successful reflect, since it is spammable now.


What can we do about this?
Keep posting on the forums.
Join this group, invite your friends. The more people we get to join this group, the better.
Stop playing pyro for now. Valve is keeping track of pyro players and weapon usuage. If you do not use the flamethrower and do not play pyro, they will notice.

Once we have a large amount of members, we will contact Valve and show them how many people oppose this update and the new way pyro is meant to play. He is not a supporter, he is an attacker.

Just a heads up, there is a user in this group that is sending out scamming links meant to hijack accounts. From Google searches it looks like said user is a hijacked account itself, since they bring up a different name for the person, and it looks like the usual hijack, change name and make profile private routine. It's the same, they just kinda added an extra sound that you only really hear when you torch a building. At least that's the only time I ever noticed it.

does anyone know of a video of a before and after of the new and old flamethower sound effect from the engineer update? cause i cant tell the difference

Well, ever since valved bumped the regular flamer damage up by 10% I personally see the pyro as fine again. But that's just me, I dunno about the rest of the people here.
