ABOUT Polyphasers vs Sleep

This group consists of people participating in the polyphasic sleep group adaptation led by Marie (Puredoxyc) in September 2014.
The idea is to play games together to stay awake in difficult times during the adaptation. Please suggest games in the discussion thread.

haha, nice Uberman story! Didn't see this until now, sorry. Yeah, all-carb doesn't sound great (low-carb sounds better ^^). You were probably simply staring at a screen too much during Uberman (might well be 16+ hours a day... no wonder your eyes capitulate).

I made it through that and started feeling more awake during the night, but on day 10 my eyes began to hurt something FIERCE so I went to bed for a few hours to avoid health risks. Found out later the problem was that my all-carb diet was almost the same thing as an all-sugar diet to my circulatory system. I've since done a lot of expanding on my cooking skills so I can make spinach, eggs and beans on a whim, that's going to help a lot for this adaptation.

During my last try at Uberman, I played a lot of Borderlands 2. On day 5 even that couldn't keep me fully awake - I kept nodding off into microsleeps while trying to navigate the dwarven mines in the Tiny Tina expansion. It was the strangest thing, like I'd be wide awake shooting things and then I'd all of a sudden realize I'd been unconscious for a few seconds and fallen off a cliff, like my brain had just shut down. Incidentally, hearing any of the sounds for that level now makes me instantly tired, I play a few of them on my phone sometimes to wind down. XD
