Hi guys, I wanted to give you a guide on settings for CS:GO.


Part 1: Adjusting viewmodel positions

Viewmodel is a term for the way your gun appears on your screen in first person. You can adjust your viewmodels with some console commands.

• viewmodel_fov "x"
Controls the FOV for your viewmodel. Ranges from 54 to 68. Setting it to 54 will make the viewmodel closer to your face. Setting it to 68 puts it further away.

• viewmodel_offset_x "x"
Controls they way the gun look on an "X" axis. Ranges from -2 to 2. Setting it to -2 will put the gun in the middle of your screen. Setting it to 2 puts the gun on the edge of your screen.

• viewmodel_offset_y "x"
Controls the way the gun looks on a "Y" axis. Ranges friom -2 to 2. Pretty much the same thing as viewmodel_fov.

• viewmodel_offset_z "x"
Controls the way your gun looks on a "Z" axis. Ranges from -2 to 2. Setting it to -2 will make it look normal. Setting it to 2 will make it look like you don't know how to use a gun. Never set this to 2.

• cl_righthand "x"
The option to make your player hold the gun in the left hadn or the right. Ranges from 0 to 1.


Part 2: Adjusting rates.

This one is pretty brief. All you have to do is type these commands in console.

rate 128000
cl_updaterate 128
cl_cmdrate 128
cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_interp 0

Basicaly, there are 3 type of tickrate in CS:GO. 64, 102.4, and 128. The higher the tick is for the server the more times it refreshes each second. Having a lower tick rate can result in bad hit reg, etc. If you do not have these commands typed in and you join a 102.4 or a 128 server, your tickrate will be stuck at 64. Just type this stuff in to fix that.
