ABOUT Hidden Gem Discovery

Welcome to the Rock Bottom Gaming. Below you will find two pinned threads for the current and the previous month where we clean up the monthly releases, making sure we don't miss any games, but also filtering out junk games so the genuine developers have more visibility. If you find any interesting new games you can share them in those threads.

Group topics and objectives:

- Filtering out asset flips, shovelware and other junk games from the monthly release list. Games with AI features are allowed as long as the game is mostly original content, and AI is limited to a few locations or a few specific features, it should not be the bulk of the experience. Genuine indie games that abuse review system will be tagged with a warning note, and the developer will be avoided for future curation/monthly tags. Also I try to promote variety gaming, and encouraging constructive game criticism.

- You can post anything indie game related. If you want to highlight specific games we have a monthly "favorite game" and "demo tracker" threads, or you can start a new one.

If you want a pinned thread for a specific indie topic, ask me directly and I will see if I can find space for it, it should be something that everyone can contribute to, for example "Monthly Favorite Adventure Game" (I don't want too many pinned threads, but we can cycle and test them to see if people engage with the topic)

- Originally this group was dedicated to unusual games and new developers which is still maybe 75% of the curation page, but it's no longer limited to just that, and I will cover a variety of indie games. Generally speaking, if possible I will promote new and unusual games using the curation, but it's not always the case, depending on what is available and how the games are performing.

We are full disclosure here, if I get any review copies they will be tagged with the gift box on the curation page and disclosed in the actual review if I write it. If you are developer that wants to send me a review copy, do not send me more than one copy, do not offer me money, and if the game is not interesting, I may avoid curating it. Or just don't send me a review copy in the first place.
