The term Zealot dates back to around the time of the birth of Jesus. The Zealots were Jewish holy warriers who fought against Roman occupation of Israel. If you read the bible, you will find that a number of Jesus's deciples were zealots. Zeolots were marked by having a specific type of knife hidden under there robes. Zealots now a days are considered to be religious fanatics throughout Europe. They took part of the crusades , and religious wars. Some examples of groups of zealots would be the Knights Templar, Hospitallers, or Knights of St John of the Hospital, Huguenots, Free Masons, and other not so well know of groups.
