Important changes in server permissions, please read.
To sum it up, this update was a badly needed revamp of all server and channel permissions.

So, I had to scrap sub moderator, as it now has no practical place in the server. I also thinned out the moderator team due to the amount of moderators we previously had being unnecessary. Also, the primary gripe expressed by server users that wanted moderator was that they didn't want to put in the channel password every time they joined a channel. I have now implemented a new system for normals to join channels that have passwords.

Now for the important stuff:

If you're a channel admin of a channel, you can set people in your channel to one of three groups: Guest, Voice, or Operator. By default, everyone in your channel will have Voice. This power allows people to speak. By removing this power (or assigning Guest), the person will no longer be able to speak in your channel. By granting the operator power, you allow the person to join your channel without needing to put in the password. However, in order to join a channel you are operator of without putting in the password, you must already be in a channel you are operator of. So, before you join a channel you are operator of, first switch to either the Canuckville Foyer, or the Bounch Channel, which can be found at the top of the server and the middle of the server respectively. The same applies to channel admins.

As far as the new formal rules go:

Server moderators have the ability to join locked channels, however they must explicitly ask the channel admin if they can join before they do so. Once they join, they can be given operator and can then join the channel at any given time. Moderators can move people around the channels, but only with their permission beforehand, unless it is blatantly implied. Moderators, your job on the server is to maintain order and help out others in any way you can. If instead you choose to make my life more difficult by creating problems, I will remove you from the moderator team.

My goal in implementing this new update was to shift power in the direction of Channel Admins. Inside your channel, you have complete and utter control over what rules you want, who can join, and who can speak. Your channel is essentially your own autonomous portion of the server in which you govern. Channel Admins can kick anyone of any server rank out of their channel (sans Server Admin). If a moderator rejoins your channel after you kick them or is in your channel without your permission, tell me and I will promptly remove their moderator.

If anyone has any questions, or needs clarification on any of the changes, contact me (Brian) or the other Server Admin (Alex).
