Work In Progress: Apollo Mobile Suit

Our new project, Apollo, is hereby announced public.

Apollo will be a Mobile Suit fitted with technologies surpassing that of most war themed contraptions in GMod. Its combination of practical design and high tech features will result in effectiveness at all ranges in any type of situation, as well as total awareness on the battlefield and top safety for the unit and its operators.

What is a Mobile Suit?
This name should be familiar with people who have seen Gundam. For those that have not: it is a walker with bipedal movement and humanoid appearance. Some may know this is an exoskeleton.

Why 'Apollo'?
Nyx, our previous project, was the name of the god of the night. Apollo is the god of war and therefore fits the product this project will develop.

How is Apollo special?
If everything works out, Apollo should be able to perform its mission on land, in the air, and in space. The armament planned for Apollo will make it capable of engaging every type of threat at close, mid and long range. Apollo will also be able to deploy high tech countermeasures such as thermal and optical camouflage, as well as submiting an EM pulse. Due to its complexity, Apollo requires two pilots.

The official build will start in approximately two weeks. Due to the experiments currently done concering the Apollo, this project currently gets the status 'Work In Progress', abbreviated WIP.

After about half a month's worth of designing, building and programming, the first unit to bring forth the alliance's armory has been completed. The build and completion of this vessel has been done prior to the existence of this page, but in order to maintain consistency we have decided to add it to the list.

Name: AAS 'Nyx'
Type: Vessel
Size: 25.8x13.4x5.0m
Personnel: 2 operators, variable room for transported personnel.
Entry/Exit points: bridge hatch, missile bay hatch, nautical deployment hatch.

Mentionable properties: 'native' stealth vessel, modeled reminiscent to the real life IX-529 'Sea Shadow'.
Features: On-board server with two touch-screen terminals featuring a combat management system. A special GMod HUD can interface with the server to greatly enhance ship's capabilities.
Armament: Retractable gun turret with tracking capabilities, embedded missile rack with targeting and manual routing capabilities.

Deployment: Specifically meant for nighttime action. Can perform covert ocean patrols, covert reconnaissance by sea, covert nautical deployment of special intervention forces and covert launch cycles of cruise missiles. Capable of engaging targets residing on land, sea, and in the air.
