Introducing GModHealth: The Best Gamemodes and Servers on GMod!
Well look no further than GModHealth!
https://gmodhealth.dev/

GModHealth is a new, gamemode-first and server visibility-first health tracker. While other sites simply rank servers by the number of players they have online over time, we use an algorithm to calculate the "health" of both servers AND gamemodes.

Everything starts by calculating a gamemode's health. We do this by dividing the number of players in the gamemode by the number of servers in the gamemode (plus the position the gamemode occupies on the in-game server list).

More players across a small number of servers = better health!

For servers, health is calculated by adding the server's gamemode health to the number of players online; each with equal weight.

This means your server's health isn't only impacted by the number of players you have, but by how well your gamemode is doing as a whole.

Less players on your server in a gamemode with many servers = worse visibility = worse health!

We made this tool for the GMod community because there aren't any other server trackers that are gamemode-first (the first thing you see in the server browser).

We hope this tool will inform developers about what works and what doesn't in the ever-changing GMod landscape, and encourage you to try new ideas.

If you have any feedback or ideas for how to make the tool more useful, please let us know in our Discord's #gmodhealth channel[www.solsticegamestudios.com]!

GModCEFCodecFix is now GModPatchTool! (Stable Release + Debug Symbols + State of Cinema/CEF)
⚠️ Important
This is a breaking change with the old GModCEFCodecFix tool.

The old tool is no longer functional and you will need to update to the new GModPatchTool to continue applying our patches. Trying to use the old tool will only result in a warning telling you you need to update, followed by a 404 error.

If you run into any issues using the new tool, please let us know in our Discord's #gmodpatchtool channel[www.solsticegamestudios.com] or in our GitHub Issues[github.com]!

GModPatchTool Download
You can get the Latest Release here:
https://github.com/solsticegamestudios/GModPatchTool/releases/latest

Developer Debug Symbols
Breakpad Debug Symbols are now also available for developers who wish to debug crashes with GMod/CEF while using our patches:
https://github.com/solsticegamestudios/GModPatchTool/tree/files/symbols

You can use the minidump-stackwalk[crates.io] tool to analyze crash dumps using them.

If you don't know what any of that means, it's not for you.

GUI
I know we said that a future GModPatchTool beta would have full support for the GUI, but it's still some time away, so we decided to postpone that to get you all a working stable release.

The old tool has been suffering from the "Failed to match Original Checksum" error significantly more lately due to us trying to reduce the cost of hosting the tool.

The new tool is not affected nearly to the same degree, and costs us significantly less to operate, so this stable release is happening earlier than expected.

State of Cinema / CEF
Something else I would like to mention as well is that CEF has officially made it to the main (no beta) branch of GMod on Windows! 🎉

This means that for Windows users, Cinema (Fixed Edition) and Media Player (Updated Edition) (partially, mostly just YouTube) work out of the box without any patches or betas once again!

A special thank you to @ShadowSun™[github.com], the developer of the Fixed/Updated Editions, for making them compatible, and obviously Facepunch/Rubat for finally taking this step in the right direction. We hope to see 64-bit and support for CEF on other operating systems follow shortly.

That said, we do still recommend the x86-64 beta with GModPatchTool for the best experience/media support.

Official Guide Updated
In case you need a refresher, our Official Install Guide for the x86-64 beta and GModPatchTool has been updated:
https://solsticegamestudios.com/fixmedia/

We're working to update the Visual Install Guides soon, if you prefer that.

We also added a little indicator for when you're patched:

Is it possible to add a “🍖” Kernel? I also asked in the Kernel suggestion thread on the Forums. I love the server, donated, and i’m always having fun doing in Yuki Theater! :steamhappy:
