ABOUT Save our World ♥

Extinction and Cruelty are just around the corner

Please take time to read this...

The Panda, the Snow Leapord, the Polar Bear and the Bengal Tiger are very few animals that face risk of extinction and loss of numbers due to the human race. The Bengal Tiger is hunted for it's hide and parts of it's body to make into medicen (which dosent and never will work). The Poachers who hunt these animals are illegal and many have told them the effects of the medicen DO NOT WORK but they are very ignorant and disagree. But extinction is only the beginning, poaching (hunting) is very cruel and cruelness is not only poaching but happens in baiting and genral cruelty to a animal you meet on the streets. The African Elephant is hunted for it's tusks to make 'medicen' and trophies (which is illegal). The poacher would shoot the Elepahnt leaving it half dead while the saw the tusk off, that is like being shot in the belly and having your teeth pulled out while your alive.

There are many groups that can help these awful actions such as the WWF and WSPA.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN OFFICAL GROUP FOR ANY OF THEM.

Baiting is probbly the cruelist. Bear baiting happens in Pakistain, where they take a baby bear cub and remove its claws and it's teeth. When it is old enough they will tie it to a post defencless and set 2 fighting dogs at it. One grabs it's muzzle while the other tares into it's neck, the bear swipes trying to get them off but the crys of pain from the bear are drowned out by the cheering crowd, then the bear is spared, hurt and bleeding and weak they set it up for another fight when it will be spared again.

FACT 1: Extinction is natural process that arises over hundreds of millions years and occurs in response to geological changes in the planet such as the continents breaking apart and the emergence of oceans. Throughout geological history species are known to disappear as major geological shifts affect the species’ ecosystem, however these shifts also see new species emerging.
FACT 2: According to fossil records as few as 2-4% of species that have ever existed are believed to survive.
FACT 3: Although extinction is a natural occurrence it is estimated that the current extinction rate on the planet is between 1000 and 10,000 times higher than “background” or the expected natural extinction rate. Unlike natural mass extinction events that have occurred in Earth’s geological history the current extinction phenomenon is accepted to be because of humans.
FACT 4: To date 16,928 plant and animal species are believed to be threatened with extinction. However, this figure may be a gross underestimation as fewer than 3% of the world’s 1.9 million described species have been assessed for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
FACT 5:
One in four mammals and one in eight birds are estimated to face a high risk of extinction in the near future.
