Steam Gifts Secret Santa

Welcome to SG's version of the popular secret santa. This is a group made for people who enjoy gaming and can give awesome games to others who would enjoy them. This is made to enjoy the spirit of christmas and of sending gifts to each other.

Sometime during December everyone will be given another member of the group that they are to send a game gift to. This will give plenty of time for the person to buy a game for their allocated person. The game will need to be delivered to the user on or within 5 days of christmas (25th december) or up to 5 days before christmas day.

Rules
1. Minimum Contributor level of 4.
2. Only give games as presents.
3. An updated steam wishlist with at least 30 games on it and none that you already own. The top 10 of your wishlist should be ranked by most wanted. Wishlists should be fully updated before 10th December to stop exploitation.
4. Upon joining the group, an initial unbundled giveaway will be need to be created within 48 hours to ensure you are trustworthy. The initial giveaway needs to be of at least $10 non sale value. You may make more steamgifts giveaways after this but it is not needed.
5. The gift sent to your allocated partner must be an unbundled game of at least $10 value even when on sale, and must be on the persons wishlist.(This is to ensure fairness and to make sure no one exploits the group).
6. The gift sent to your allocated partner must not be exploited or have had a price error at any point.
7. The gift you receive must be activated on your own account and is not to be sold or to be given to anyone else. A steamgifts private giveaway should be made for the game to ensure the person gets the gift.

There is currently a group limit of 50 and I will close the group when it reaches this amount.

Hello there, fellow santas!

Christmas is right around the corner and we just wanted to remind you about some of our basic rules as well as give you some tipps on how you could deliver your christmas presents. Let's start with the rules.

The gift for your allocated partner must be unbundled and has to be Steam-redeemable. Use isthereanydeal.com for assistance and check back with one of the admins if you have any questions. Also, be aware of the fact that key resellers pretty much always sell Steam-less keys (for platforms like Origin, Uplay and so on) - these games do not qualify for our Secret Santa event, but may be given away in addition to your "mandatory Secret Santa event gift".
The gift for your allocated partner needs to have a valuve of at least $ 10, even if it's currently discountet for (lets say) 80% (making it cost $ 50 without the discount).
You may give your partner more games if you like and feel generous, but this is up to you.
The gift for your allocated partner should be bought based on your partners Steam wishlist. Make sure to check our new Wishlist remarks topic prior to buying the gift to raise the chance of getting your partner a gift they really want.
A private giveaway has to be created on SteamGifts.com and the link may only be shared with your allocated partner and (if you want) the admins of the event. This is to make sure that everyone follows the rules and does in fact deliver their present. And don't worry, the admins will not enter your private giveaway. ;)
The duration of the private giveaway should be long enough to give your partner a chance to enter. You should rather make it longer and deliver the game prior to the end of the giveaway than vise versa.
Last but not least: You have to deliver your present within 5 days of christmas, so some day between December 20th and December 30th. This gives you the chance to wait for the Steam Holiday Sales to start on December 22nd.

Now on to the question on how you should/could deliver your present. Here's how I made it the last two years:

I, of course, added my allocated partner during the christmas time, usually between December 20th and December 22nd, and told them that I would be their santa. I created the giveaway right after they had accepted my request, wrote a little description message for them and made it end on December 31st. Then, on December 24th (which is when we celebrate christmas eve in Germany), I sent the gift directly through Steam and they marked the games as received as soon as the giveaway had come to an end.

This year, however, we can use a new little feature that Steam offers, which is to set a time and date on which the gift will be delivered automatically through Steam. This can be particularly useful if you have a big family event coming over the holidays and your time is limited.
