Last Regret was founded by Sniper and Leo, both established Left 4 Dead 2 Realism Expert players, who’ve felt the default Realism Expert settings lacked substance and allowed for poor player mechanics. The main goal of this group is to provide its’ members a level of difficulty worthy of a true apocalypse were the player must choose between himself and the good of the team.

From easy to expert a number of what are called cvars are modified to change the game's difficulty. What "Expert Realism Enhanced" means is to take a step beyond realism expert and offer experienced players a challenege otherwise not available in Left 4 Dead 2.

• Multi-Tank finales: 3 per wave on average
  
• Multi-Tank maps: Some maps will have 2 tanks at once. (prevent Rushers)
  
• Special infected rates increased (dramatically)
  
• Tank Health and Tank Burn Time doubled
  
• Zombie awareness increased (dramatically)
  
• Zombie count: background population and number in hordes increased
  
• Zombie horde timings decreased (more frequent)

Only members of Last Regret can start the server. Once the game has begun, any player on your friends list or friend who shares a relational link from another group, can join the server.

• Steam Group Server: From the game lobby menu, select “Steam Group Server”. Click “Start Game” and you’ll be shown a window listing steam group servers. Highlight “Last Regret” then click on “Join game” to connect.
  
• Best Available Dedicated: The group server doesn’t always show up in the steam group list. When that happens, you have to select “Best Available Dedicated” from the game lobby menu. Before you can connect, you must first open your game console by pressing the tilde key and entering the following command: mm_dedicated_force_servers 68.232.162.8:27015 . Press enter, close the console, then on “Start Game” to connect.
