Here is some background lore about how you are in the current setting;

The year is 2017, Earth has fallen into the Combines hands. Earth is being harvested for its materials, sea's now becoming dryed up banks, natural life little but a myth now, the air intoxicated by micro-organisms by the Air-Exchange, life as Earth once knew is over.

With the evergrowing Combine at hand, they needed something to lead them, someone to show the face of the combine, so the CHC (Combine High Council) delcared Vikor Aurmentrout to become, global administrator, with this power came the fall of Cities, towns, everything, to make way for Districts, with districts came new Cities, in place of the old ruins, after this, Vikor ordered the CHC to come up with a Civil way of administrating the streets, so they formed the Union Civil Protection, with this new founded power rebellion came to a clear stop as they where clearly outmanned and out gunned, this allowed for civilisation to restart, this formed the Civil Workers Union, with the CWU now at hand, this allowed for familes to earn enough rations to feed themselfs, it also allowed for jobs, work, civil housing and so much more.

But, this all changed within weeks, riots broke out, the Civil Workers Union was near too falling, propaganda of a higher figure started to spring up from District to District. The UCP soon setteled this however, the Civillians where beaten, pushed back, killed near to the point of pure extinction till they realised, the Combine had the higher power.

Once this was setteled the CHC delcared new laws, curfews and regulations too keep the Citizens at bay, with this familes where torn, children where abducted for slavery, women became the lower-class Citizen and males where sent to work within the UCP.

Now, this is where you come in, you have just entered District Eighteen, what difference are you going to make?
