NEW Indie Game Studio

Since the proof of concept test phase was a moderate success (with the condition of better graphics for more fun and intuitive gameplay), I have been hardcore dedicating 200+ hours into enemy character assets and organizing them for the game. I know this because I have logged ~165 hours into Aseprite the past 2 months alone while working on organizing my new graphic assets. On top of that, my first main character's commission with a great graphic designer is almost complete (~2 months). I have also decided that there will (hopefully) be two main characters on this game as long as it will work out as I test it later in 2026.

I have been busy on sorting through all graphic assets for enemy sprites and customizing/organizing them to how I need them accordingly. Hopefully it's almost done and I can move forward with the enemy design and skill design, but the break from graphical work is going to be short lived because I still have to design and develop all the maps. At least I have a good number of map assets to work with.

As of this post, the game has been through the proof of concept stage (thanks to my friends and family). The core combat engine is in a stable position (though this will need to be upgraded in the future to accommodate for the selection of 1 of 2 potential main characters), but only a little bit (hopefully). The graphic design work for the combat aspect is almost complete, and I want to say that this will be the majority of the game.

Once the graphical images are organized (I estimate another 2 days if holiday season chores don't creep up before I finish), then I can begin working on the skills and major combat using my graphical assets in December or even the day after Thanksgiving (hopefully this).

I estimate 2-3 months to complete the combat aspect, then it's going to be another 2 months to establish the map assets and organize them with a world map plan; along with completion. Following that up, I need to officially write the story based off all my bullet points in line with my world map plan/path, which will take about another month. Once that's done, it should be another 2 months to create the events and story into the game itself. NPCs and NPC stores will definitely be added.

I'm not sure how long it'll realistically take for everything, but I have done a ton of research and obtaining most of the graphical and audio assets. Map assets need organization and map designing + completion still though. More audio assets may be required, but we will see.

Assuming everything goes to plan, perhaps there will be an Alpha version out by August 2026. We will see! I am still working full time and doing this after work, so time is heavily limited when factoring in daily life chores, etc. Hopefully I will get close to an Alpha around August 2026!!
