A group for collectors and owners of the best and rarest TF2 unusual weapon effect.

Weapons with the Energy Orb effect were unboxable from Gun Mettle cases from July 2nd 2015 through October 20, 2017. Due to an attachment bug, the effect sometimes appears on the player's screen instead of the weapon upon respawn: https://i.redd.it/bhtzr1ane2j21.gif This apparently caused at least one user with photosensitive issues to suffer some ill effects. In classic Valve fashion, the dev team removed Energy Orb from the drop pool, rather than fixing the bug. Some six year later, there are only three unusual weapon effects: Hot, Cool and Isotope. The attachment bug continues to cause a host of issues with TF2.

There's a fix on the TF2 workshop to add EO to every War Paintable weapon.
The probability of Valve ever implementing such a change is similar to that of Lord Gaben winning a marathon.

The end result is that Energy Orb is one of the rarest unusual effects in TF2, full stop. All EO weapons continue to rise in price, with Strange ones going up to stratospheric levels.

One quirk of Energy Orb is that since the effect only exists on Gun Mettle skins, all EO weapons are subject to Gun Mettle float values and therefore scratched to hell.
