6. Leib Garde-Grenadier Regiment

History
Served from 1675 to 1806 under the names of the Altpreußische Infantry Regiment 6 or Grenadier Guard (Battalion) No. 6. The Nr.6/6te had been dissolved by the Prussian defeat with the war against France. The regiment was establish with the name "No. 6 Regiment Kurprinz". The regiment was under the command of Friedrich von Brandenburg directly. 38 years later, in 1713, under Frederick William I, the King of Prussia, upgraded the regiment to the Guard. It had now been known "His Royal Majesty's Regiment" or "Leibregiment".

In 1717, the regiment merged with another; now called the "King's Regiment No. 6". Under Frederick II, The regiment was reformed due to high costs on upkeep. In result, it was small and had been known as "Battalion King Grenadier Guards" or "Bataillon Königs Grenadier-Garde". Grenadiers of the battalion were in association with the grenadiers of "Regiment No. 3".


Historic Battles
This battalion fought in the Silesian Wars, in the Battle of
Hohenfriedberg and thrush, and later in the Seven Years' War (Leuthen,
Rosbach, Hochkirch, Liegnitz and Torgau) against the Austrians.
