History :

After the Napoleonic invasion of Portugal, and the disappearance of the Legion of Light troops, raised the need to reorganize the troops to create new units and well trained in light infantry and tactics of these units greatly appreciated at the time in organization of any army. These new units, called "Hunters" were considered elite because of its high degree of preparation shown, originally organized as six battalions of this type, each with four companies of ordinary hunters and one of sharpshooters. It was demonstrated that the level, which the Duke of Wellington had them in high esteem, involve them in any important role, even in scenarios projecting outside the Peninsula, taking part in the campaigns of 1813 and 1814, fighting in Nivelle or Toulouse, to name a few scenarios.
