20+ Years of Service

Steam was created on the 12th of September, 2003 with the first game on the platform being Counter Strike.

Counter-Strike began in 1999 as a Mod for Half-Life. It moved into retail product release in 2000.

Steam helped Counter-Strike first distribute the game and then take it to a global stage.

Accounts started shortly after the creation of Steam are honoured in this group. Welcome to 20+ Years of Service.

Direction of this group.

Hey everyone -
A member had a good idea / question about the direction of this group and I was hoping for input from the rest of you.

In my head I'd wait until the 25 years mark to make another group (quarter of a century sounds good, right?!) -- but this member suggested that I keep changing this group's name to 21+YoS (Years of Service) now that we have 21 year old members.

My next question would be what would happen at the 22 year mark etc? Do we keep growing the group that way to find the actual original CS Beta / CS Retail players? (Retail being 1.0 --> 1.6)

Would love your thoughts.
