I have empty jar, 2 gold coins, elven juice and buns...I tried using them everywhere I feel like and nothing worked, what to do?

been walking around the map for like 30 minutes, all i have is the mug of ale, i clearly need to add a sedative to it, which i assume is related to the flower in the forest with all the gateways, but i cant figure out how to actually interact with the flower, nothing i do seems to let me pick it up or do anything with it....
