Hello loyal fans, loyal enemies, and strangers who ended up on this announcement page because they were Googling something about tea ceremonies and got confused. We're here today with exciting updates about Teatime Samurai.

It's just about the one year anniversary of the release of Teatime Samurai Remastered! In light of this milestone and the billions of dollars we've already made on the game, Teatime Samurai is going Free to Play! Now absolutely everyone can play it and absolutely no one has an excuse not to play it. So tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell the appropriate authorities: the Samurai is back in town, and this time it's free.

Big Bad July 15th Update

Woah, hey gang! Welcome to Teatime Samurai July 15th update. What can you expect in this big ol' update?

Randomized Boss Order

The order in which bosses appear is now totally randomized, so you're no longer fighting Liu and Shovel first every single game.

Weapons

There are now multiple varieties of torches in Teatime Samurai. Each one has unique properties and behavior, and there are more on the way!

A New Boss Fight!

A stretchy yokai joins the boss lineup! Defeat the deadly dreamer in this new update!

Localization

Teatime Samurai is now in a whole handful of languages! Tell your pen pals in far away places!

Bug Fixes

Tons of bug fixes, minor and major. Thank you for all the feedback!

Coming Soon

New enemies, weapons, and stats are on the way! Stay tuned for a cool underground catfish yokai.

Update notes for July 4th Update: Patriotic Hotfix 2.0.1.5

Hi! Welcome to the fabulous world of patch 2.0.1.5, in which all of our dreams and wishes will be fulfilled*. In this patch we fix a couple of visual issues and a bug that caused crashes at the high score screen.

Achievements bug fix

If anyone plays this game with the free to play version, you cannot get two achievements: "Rude!" and "Nate the Stretch". But, there's a fix to get them! Explanation: For some reason the Steam Build 2.0.1.39 is different from a previous version in a few ways that seem to impact the ability to get these achievements. The new version doesn't have the boss intro animations that are in the older version, and when you finish the boss the sensei doesn't come out to give you tea which triggers a dialogue includi...
