Hello beautifull campfire people ♥

After weeks of whispers behind lace curtains and suspiciously well-timed knitting clicks…

We can finally say it:

The Steam page for The Granny Detective Society is now LIVE!

And yes… the very first trailer is out too.

From her window, Madelaine (a retired little mouse) watches her street, pins secrets on her board, and slowly uncovers the truth…

until a mysterious sisterhood of spy grandmothers pulls her into something much bigger than she ever imagined.

> Everyone has a double life.

Do you get weird conversations too?

I'm wondering how common it is for weird/insane stuff to show up in the game? I just had one where someone declared they had a "witch mark" from a "curse", wrote in all stutters and did a whole lot of asterisk-rp. Had to quit out because it was so uncomfortable....

Changing the topic or ending a conversation early

Should be respected in face-to-face conversations, should be possible in this game. I was told I could go back to the menu at any time, but it looks like I can't get to any other topics without finishing the current one? I thought I could choose what to talk about. Also, maybe consider in general that the kind of person who has awesome close friends to hang with all night may not be the same kind of person who'd play this game and it might be a sore topic instead of an icebreaker....

Shaking the polaroid

I can't seem to shake the polaroid at the end of the a conversation. I try the scroll wheel on my mouse and that worked for moving conversations and I've tried clicking and shaking it, and then every mouse movement but it's just stuck on the screen and I can never progress....

Any fix for always offline?

Heya, I've been having the issue of being stuck offline. I've tried verifying files, using an ethernet cable and so on but got nothing to work. Is there any way to fix it? I also saw a thread saying about it. I'm using Microsoft Edge as a browser, WIndows 11 and firewall already allows the game through...

Far more helpful, supportive, and affordable than my last few talk therapists. It's more like group therapy, but less anxiety and easy to be honest.

This update focuses on fixing bugs in the Old-School Messaging scene, along with a few quality-of-life improvements.

Updates:

Correct positioning when opening the Old-School Messaging scene
Editing a message bubble in Old-School Messaging is no longer a nightmare (finally!)
Added a button to skip the Polaroid development step → some players were stuck there
Navigating text inside a bubble with the arrow keys no longer moves the camera
Optimization to prevent crashes when sending a message with Ctrl + Enter

It executes perfectly the concept it tries to be.

If you're someone who likes talking about your feelings, go for it.

However, if you don't, I would still recommend because the game's not expensive and also it's on sale all the time, BUT: keep in mind you'll play it for 3-4h and then never come at it again.
