Takes everything I love about Dead Cells and trims all the fat. Also incredibly animated.

I can already tell this is going to take just as much time as Dead Cells did. Hopefully it gets the same level of support.

Decent rogue-like, plagues by infuriating bugs (item supposed to increase you weapon damage make it unable to deal damage) and bag hitbox (getting hit by a ennemy while in his back).
The movement mechanics are fluid but often disturb the combat.
Replayability is only in the bestiry completion, build variety is very lackluster.

Some basic rogue-like concept and ideas didn't make it in this game (can't recycle health pickup for risk-reward management-, health pickup and other items don't appear on the map-annoying map backtracking-, can't access the bestiary during run-slow completion progress-, meta progression ressource become useless after unlocking everything - could provide in run bonus instead...

I was expecting better from this game, knowing their experience with rogue-like. Not on the content, because this is expensive and take time, but even the raw gameplay and overall progression management doesn't quite keep up with today's standards.

It's really deadcells with a prince of persia paintjob, probably fantastic if you like deadcells
