Highly do not recommend!
First, no split screen, which doesn't make any sense in 2025, but its old game that was meant to be played on the couch with a friend, and you can play it on PS5, so why is it missing on PC.
Secondly, horrible performance, really!!! Horrible performance in a 20-year-old game.
And finally, and looks like a crime. Now it's sunny and bright its like they just crank britness to 200% and shipped and shut up everyone. The game's core is a dark story, and yes its fine to improve some aspect in a specific part when it can benefit the atmosphere, but everywhere, even at night when you can see every detail, and it's not good.
How hard it can be, I still don't understand a 1-to-1 remake or remaster and simply improve game quality, not to decide what best for me. You can do that if you are a genius, but in the
The Coalition, there are no geniuses, even good devs, just people who need a job and do everything to keep it.

As a preface, I would only recommend playing Gears of War: Reloaded if you are unable to play any of the other titles in the series. Gear of War (2006) would be given a 6.0/10 at it's core and Gears of War: Reloaded is barely a 3.0/10, with it's most redeeming quality being it's availability to PlayStation and Steam users.

By their very nature, remakes and remasters need to justify their existence when the same "game" already is available. Gears of War: Reloaded currently does not do so, due to Gears of War Ultimate, a remake of the debut title already being available. Gears of War (2006) is a landmark third person shooter, popularizing both the Active Reload mechanic, as well as the hard cover based system Gears of War (2006) definitely shows it's age, though Gears of War Ultimate functions as a good visual remaster already. Despite being a classic at it's core, Gears of War: Reloaded has numerous issues, with the problems in optimization, and key bindings/controls as just two examples.
A thorough review of Gears of War, by itself would not be faithful to this title, as it is the second remake and thus must both be judged by the original and the pre-existing remake, both of which it falls flat against. There is a a strange faithfulness to the 2006 title, oddly including the hardware workarounds of minor cutscenes (5 to 20 seconds) as a way to put less stress on the memory of the Xbox 360. These memory shortcuts have no place in a title ostensibly for modern PC hardware and the lack of effort put in to connect the minor combat arenas seems like a major misstep, especially given the sale price of 40 dollars.

The DNA of the game, the story, characters and aesthetic are all fine, and have aged acceptably from 2006, not perfectly, but they still cross the modern threshold. However, all that surrounds these core aspects, the weapon and enemy variety, AI behavior, score/sound and level design do not fit in a 2025 title, even a remake. Perhaps a more ambitious reimagining of the 2006 title, or a collection of the original trilogy could find a place in the modern setting, or simply justifying the existence of a second remaster.

i have tried everything i could to get rid of my black screen when i load into campaign to play but none of it worked i still get the black screen and i can still move around shoot aim and interact but there is no point in it if i can see anything while im playing!!
