This is a major update with bug fixes and improvements across the whole game (including a completely new tutorial system, a bunch of work on puzzle flow, sequencing, and adjustments to the Otis DLC content).

These adjustments were made possible by your feedback, reviews and gameplay videos. We truly appreciate each of you who has reached out to make Splittown play even better!

Because of the scope of the changes in 1.1, save games from earlier versions might not be fully compatible with this update.

What this means in practice:

• Your existing saves will load in 1.1 but the game will throw a warning and ask you to restart from a previous chapter using the Chapter menu (or starting a new game).

  • You can attempt to continue, but do this at your own peril.

• If you were mid-chapter, expect to replay some of that chapter. But you’ll be on the fixed version of the game going forward!

This sucks, we know! But these changes let us address a loooong list of issues (see below) instead of applying more band-aids.

Build 1.1 has been visited by the donkey of misfortune.

Developer Commentary is still under work and is not yet included in 1.1. More info when it’s ready!

• Fixed dismissing a pop-up enabling disabled interfaces

• Fixed pop-ups having shaders applied to them

• Fixed an issue with dropping the battery on inventory items

• Adjusted the layering for the vacuum tube in front of IM5

• Adjusted Wimp Phone hints for the incriminating photos puzzle

• Added the ability to ask Dancy about Wrottsley

• Adjusted Wimp Phone hints for taking Wrotty for a walk

• Updated the cutscene for pushing Otis’ car

• Adjusted the layering of Otis’ car in front of IM5

• Fixed the sarcophagus not being interactable when the Brig door is open

• Improved the final terminal puzzle:

  • More helpful error feedback

  • More flexible command input

  • Added a map legend

  • Adjusted some sound effects

• Prevented Nimby from interacting with the azurite urn after completing the Catacombs puzzle

• Fixed the Shoe Phone enabling cursor snapping when there is no signal

• Fixed the animation of a ducky in the sewers

• Improved the Uzlek coffee maker puzzle:

  • Prevented the hand from being movable during an action

  • Prevented leaving the screen while an action is ongoing

  • Restored the clicking sound when the puzzle resets

  • Buttons can now be pressed freely when the keypad is inactive

• Fixed multiple issues with Joe’s bartending:

  • Fixed infinite empty glasses

  • Fixed input freezing when fast traveling while Joe is preparing a drink

  • Prevented ordering multiple Divide Expresses

• Fixed the lab mirror not visually mirroring the scene

• Fixed the mortar being fireable twice

• Prevented Nimby and Otis from passing through Dancy’s door during cutscenes

• Prevented Nimby from asking about the battery when it is no longer relevant

• Prevented Nimby from commenting on the piano if it hasn’t been used

• Added a custom line when looking at the ball and chain

• Fixed Nimby’s layering when using the Vacuum Tube

• Fixed missing footstep audio in multiple areas

• Fixed multiple sequence breaks in the Otis content

• Added a new dialogue when Otis calls at the Café after the bomb is activated to make discovering the Otis content easier

• Prevented removing PAL’s memory module from the laundry room

• Fixed multiple issues with the phone system:

  • Prevented Dancy from picking up while asleep

  • Prevented asking Joe about topics that are no longer relevant

• Fixed the Flugende plaque not being inspectable after loading Chapter 4 from the menu

• Added new affordances for players who skip reporting to Dancy before going after Otis, including a new underground cutscene that updates the notebook

• Fixed ESC / B not closing some close-up scenes

• Fixed multiple typos

• Fixed Wimp Vision sticking on screen when changing scenes while holding the hotkey

• Fixed a sequence break that allowed taking Wrotty into the underground maze
