A realms deep retro FPS. It's good enough, and big enough. No, not 39 hours big, more like around 20 hours big. Half the time was spent with the game minimized while I was doing something else. At times it feels like its too easy before abruptly becoming too hard. There are powerups but you'll usually find them when the battle is over. The level design is somewhat poor so the devs recently added the compass from quake 2 remastered to stop people from getting lost.

There is a DLC but I don't recommend that. the base game is more than enough and the final level in the DLC is awful.

it's very pretty- but the gameplay is very boring

I played the first two chapters on hard difficulty, which is how I always try and play my games. I keep thinking it's a skill issue as I try to get through the game to the end. On chapter 3 (out of 3), it's kill-box after kill-box and you end up either running low on ammo or health by the next encounter. It starts to feel messy and unfair at this difficulty setting. I have no idea if normal is much easier since I see no option to change it mid-game. I'm not going to start the game all over again after 20 hours in.

I game after work and after my dad duties are done and I bought this game since it's pixelated boomer shooter with beautiful warhammer 40k aesthetics. But i'm giving up trying to complete this game as I just can't get over the lack of good game design. Locking your players in a kill-box with enemies spawning in behind them over and over again in a room that's almost claustrobic, just ruined it for me.

FIrst 2 chapers has this nonsense too but they mixed it up with large areas, with clunky plateforming, but the gunplay challenges felt fresh and it made it more fun to push forward.

Throwing deadly semi-bosses in rooms the size of my apartment, isn't fun. And takes away the awe and power of a space marine.

God knows what they will do to address these complains in their sequel, but for now I'm so done with this developer.
