Yes, you can play Aliens: Fireteam Elite in VR with full motion controller support using the modded UEVR mod with the G.R.I.P. (Gesture Reactive Input Protocol). It's completely free, search for it.

Keep in mind, the game is demanding and requires a beefy rig to run in VR. On my RTX 5090, with most settings on high, I was getting anywhere from 65-80 fps. The game looks beautiful though and I was pushing visuals over performance.

The GRIP mode is very interesting because it uses gestures to perform certain actions. For example, you put your off-hand under your dominant hand to ADS. You move your dominant hand to your shoulder and press grip in order to change weapons, etc.

This VR mod shows that Aliens Fireteam Elite and other top AAA games are missing out by not including official VR support for their games. If you love gaming, it's the best way to experience this game. The devs should try out the VR mod and experience the best way to play their game.

VR Rating 9/10. One of the best looking VR games and the GRIP mod is interesting.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite has the bones of a great game, and for the first half, I really wanted to love it. It nails the atmosphere perfectly, with stages that give off those classic gritty vibes from Aliens and even Prometheus. Grabbing two friends to try and survive waves of Xenos is a total blast, as the aliens are an absolute thrill to fight and force you to stay on your toes. I enjoyed playing more than half the game with my wife, and when the pulse rifles are firing and the bugs are crawling out of the vents, it feels like an 8/10 experience that captures exactly what a co-op survival shooter should be.

However, the game hits a massive wall because the Weyland-Yutani Androids are such a pain in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass to fight. They completely ruin the momentum, turning a frantic bug hunt into a tedious slog against bullet-sponges and their dumb little turrets that are just incredibly annoying. This shift in gameplay, combined with the lack of a decent story to keep things moving, makes the experience dwindle significantly. While the foundation is solid and the Xeno combat is top-tier, the frustration of fighting synthetics drags the whole thing down to a 6.5 out of 10. It’s a fun ride for a while, but it just misses the mark of being something truly special.
