Behind the Scenes - the Honey Badger car

Before Chris Boswell had the opportunity to sit behind the wheel of his unique car, it lived as a rendered concept from a very talented artist known by his Instagram handle as adry53customs.

Back in 2015 for his Fastlane Project adry53customs created the “Jackhammer”. A mean looking take on American muscle cars. The design looks like a hyperbole of everything we love about them - the over-the-top blower, towering menacingly over the car, bursting with power even when parked. The headlights resembling some of the most classic of designs from the era and the full-blown aggressive look of the chassis. It’s a massive beast but at the same time it feels very slick, almost like a beefed-up shark that has transformed into a car to prowl the streets. Elegance and power, muscle and grace. It’s a car you never forget once you see it.

Hotfix 1.8.3 Patch Notes

The year slowly comes to an end but we still have one quick patch for you fine folks. There were some minor issues with the 1.8.2 update and we have some fixes for them. So without further ado:

Patch Notes

All Platforms:

Fixed issues with invalid run times being displayed after entering the Grip Leaderboards.
Fixed an issue with the Akina Phantom Hachi Z ‘handmade’ bodykit - it should now display its proper livery (you can find the skin in the Tuner Shop under body kits for the car).

Xbox:

Fixed the issue with the Xbox splash screen.
Fixed issues with manga pages on Xbox.
Added the missing loading screens, which came from the community Photo Contest (sorry guys!).

And this is a wrap for fixes this year. We will be taking a few slower days for the Holidays to regenerate and then we’re back to working on the PlayStation 5 version of the game, as well as the expanded Paint Shop (livery system) and the multiplayer component for all platforms.

Have a fantastic Holiday break - enjoy your free time and get some good drifting practice before you can compete against other players in 2026.

I’m sharing my go-to drift setup that works consistently on any rear-wheel-drive (RWD) car. This isn’t the “perfect” or only way to tune, it’s just what’s worked for me to get clean, controlled slides, especially after unlocking the welded differential. (G

Good game but bad optimization ruined it, it was fine when i played on beta version but now its very laggy. Also i encountered another problem, my custom key mapping it keeps changing to default for some reason, it happened 3 times under 1 hour.
Refunding this game for now, will get back when everything gets fixed !!

100% Achievement Review: A quick review based on my experience completing all the (available) achievements.

Title: JDM: Japanese Drift Master

Summary: Open-world drift-racing game

Personal notes: JDM is a arcade-focused drifting game, putting you behind the wheel as you take on drift events, races, and challenges across neon-lit towns and winding mountain roads inspired by Japan. You are a new driver in town and you need to make a name for yourself by delivering tofu and racing... sound familiar? On my racing journey I had a blast exploring the world. The atmosphere this game has is easily one of its strongest points, with night driving in particular feeling stylish and immersive thanks to solid lighting, reflections, and a multitude of radio stations that fits the racing vibe perfectly. Drifting itself can feel great once it clicks, and linking drifts on mountain passes is very satisfying, especially when paired with a pretty good selection of JDM-inspired cars and a robust customization system for both performance and visuals. That being said, we do not have access to custom decals and paint jobs yet just base colors. In addition, the handling can be inconsistent at times with moments when the physics feel a bit floaty or unpredictable. I also had a few issues when playing such as mirrors turning off or some vehicles loading in late or incorrectly. Despite the world being gorgeous, I thought it was on the smaller side as well. Achievement wise, this game is quite simple with most achievements being story related. Only one was a little tedious being drive 1500km. I ended up just doing laps on the giant highway that loops the map in various cars to attain this after the rest. All things considered the core driving loop is addictive, the vibe is strong, and when everything comes together, the game delivers a fun drifting experience. I would recommend this game to any racing/drifting fan alike. I just hope they continue to add content such as custom paint jobs(I will come back for Screenshots) or more events/story lines to keep the playerbase engaged.
