The Tell-Tale Heart

Description
This room is based on Edgar Allan Poe’s popular short story. Although having read the story may result in a better game experience, to beat the puzzles, it is not necessary to know the tale by heart.

Excerpts from the text will appear occasionally to provide the narrative and clues. The player's goal is to carry out the plot of the short story.

Although when designing the room I had a single player in mind, it is playable with friends as well.

This is an "experimental" room from me, for this is the first room I have built. All feedback are welcome!

Enjoy!

Hey. I have a very hard time getting into the cabinet with the lantern. I read on one of your responses that the lantern was going to be on a desk upstairs because i had a very hard time trying to understand how to get it. But the lantern is inside a cabinet with no handle or code lock or such. I also have a sketch of a house and a heart which might not be for this part of the room but i'm very confused right now. I looked around everywhere but cannot find a single clue for how to get the lantern. It might have been easier to understand if i read the Allan poe's short story but i cannot figure it out really. A lot of the things were a bit hard to understand where to start to keep going. But i liked how it was built and the energy u get from the light and such. :)

Hiya - thanks for that but I had solved that puzzle. The problem was that there was nowhere to click or go to in order to get to the attic. Everywhere I tried just said it was too dark - there was no option to actually GET up there.

Hey, k8sparrot! You should be able to get into the attic by solving the puzzle.
To find the hint, check out the golden pen (found on the upstairs desk) carefully.
You have to set the granfather clock's weights in place and pull the secret lever (book) after that.
If you can get to the attic, but it's too dark, you have to place the candle into the lamp that you can find on a table up there.
I hope it works out for you!

Hi - this room is really promising but have I found a bug? I have a candle and also lit the ones downstairs but can't get into the attic. The candle was the first thing I picked up, so have I missed something or is there maybe a bug related to when the candle is picked up? . I'll keep checking back to see if you reply as I'd like to do this room.
