Editing afterthought - spoilers, apparently.

Decided to approach this review 'in progress' style. So:

5 minutes in. Messing with graphics and controller options. Reading the books.

35 minutes in. Seeing the prologue. Still reading the books.

60 minutes in. Letting the music in the main menu play. Still reading the books.

89 minutes in. Still in Kaer Mohren. Still reading the books.

1 and a half hour in. Prologue kicks ass.

2 hours in. Saw a question mark on the map. Nilfgard is on the move. 20 minutes later, I turn in a drunk firestarter.

3 hours in. Red the town's notice board by mistake. The whole map is filled with question marks now.

5 hours in. Have to get busy with the question marks and stop picking flowers. Blacksmiths are for swords while armorers for clothing. Should had known. Have to find an armorer.

10 hours in. My leveling up is like trekking through mud while being a turtle. Not sure how to switch potions and signs while mid-battle. Took a contract about a well.

10 and 1/2 hours in. My sword can hit ghosts, how does that work ?

15 hours in. Yennefer showed up. Made me feel ashamed for cheating on her. Weird, don't remember ever owning the previous two games.

17 hours in. I am in a place called Velen, close to Novigrad in the middle east of the continent. Nothing unnatural. Met a guy dressed in red that tell me to burn some bodies and an other one that apparently beat his wife. Red means bad apparently.

20 hours in. A thing that looks like an ugly, shaggy tit slag threw some mud in my face, scared off my horse. I fell off and got my face eaten.

22 hours in. Even putting things in order is a mechanic in this game ! I simply stacked all blue abilites in one side of the board and a red one on the other and put in something called 'blue mutagen' next to the blue ones. Now they are more potent.

25 hours in. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the whole map is filled with question marks, boats and exclamation marks. I am gonna split the map into sections and ignore the main quest for a while.

30 hours in. I am making good on cleaning up the map but tons of quests and monsters now appear with a red skull on them. Red again. Might be something benevolent this time ?

30 hours and 20 minutes in. A level ?? Griffon with a red skull in its description one hit KO ed me off my horse. There's my answer.

35 hours in. Met Letho. Decided to let him die after an arrow got him, he was an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Later on. Letho is alive. Dang it.

38 hours in. Came across a tree in a cave. It talked to me in my head. Too many mushrooms.

40 hours in. I am in the middle of escorting a man to his house while he is holding his miscarried resurrected daughter. What the ♥♥♥♥. Also, I am glad that tree and I had that talk. I am REALLY glad.

45 hours in. The amount of close calls for getting duped with this game's choices makes me think I am playing L.A. Noire or something. Somebody get me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pestacide.

50 hours in. I decided to do a quest 14 levels too soon. Good thing it had only humanoids as enemies.

52 hours in. I got a sword as a reward which is actually of a worse quality than the one I own. I am jumping ahead too much, me thinks.

55 hours in. Apparently, I am not. Almost all of the question marks north of Novigrad require a lvl of 35 in order to be beater. Still gonna scout them though.

56 hours in. There is a diagram for a sword underneath Temple Isle. I suspect there are sewers somewhere around here.

57 hours in. Passages are nowhere to be found. ♥♥♥♥ this, I am gonna see why a gnome's bees are upset.

60 hours in. On the way to the bees I got derailed to a destroyed house with a pentagram on the floor. Wonder what that's about. Let's do some more question marks.

62 hours in. Scouting again. Went back to the pentagram and opened a portal. Not gonna say what's inside but I am gonna have to change Geralt's clothes, the stink made me gag.

66 hours in. Tackling the story again. Triss wants me to turn her in.

66 and a half hours in. ♥♥♥♥ YOU, I AM GONNA ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ KILL YOU, MENGE !

67 hours in. I am gonna do some contracts again, story took a lot out of me. Oh, I turned Triss down. She took it much better than the previous gal.

70 hours in. At the south of Velen, there is a gigantic tree and a flash looking suspiciously familiar like the ones coming from Places of Power. Two options. I can climb there through some doors and foglets or go around the back and climb the mountain to . . . LEVEL 36 BASILISK ?!

72 hours in. I killed the bastard. Huh. Proud of myself. Cannot climb the mountain, though.

76 hours in. Dandelion wants me to dress up like a cowboy. I accidentally hit him. An hour later, I realized I didn't equip the prop sword for my quest with him. Figures.

79 hours in. Someone attacked a friend of Dandelion's. The doctor says that the same attacker is responsible for other incidents around the city. He has a coroner friend who was also his professor, all that while looking suspiciously younger than him. Says it's the fumes from the laboratory. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, red the books. He is a vampire, calling it.

80 hours in. Almost botched the quest by forgetting what I just pointed out.

81 hours in. Knew it. You gotta die, you religion afflicted mother !

83 hours. After locking myself out of some quests deliberately cause of that red skull, I decided to sail for Skellige. Found a drunk who was willing enough.

83 hours and two minutes. Ship sank. Got washed up next to a place of power.

85 hours. I decided to open up Pandora's Box and the whole map is filled with question marks now. No idea where to begin. Might as well attend a funeral.

86 hours. A raven haired ♥♥♥♥♥ left a bad taste in my mouth. She will come up again later, I bet. Till then though, gotta break into a lab.

87 hours. Unicorns.

88 hours. Skelligeans or whatever you call these guys, are a cross between Irelanders, Vikings and pirates. Some noble, some not so. But they are all idiots. With 3 exceptions.

90 hours. A red bearded guy who is not named Olaf for whatever reason wants me to help his two kids. One went to slay a giant, the other to de-possess someone.

93 hours. TRUST. YOUR. FRIENDS. I cannot stress this enough.

95 hours. Decided to clear some of the marks on the map and hunt for the Ursine set. Heavy armor makes your stamina refill slower, mind you.

96 hours. Well. Sailing got a bit old. Back to dry land. Swimming controls are by far the worst part of the game.

98 hours. Finished up some quests from Novigrad. Neither ended on a happy note and they were the GOOD endings. Witcher III in a nutshell.

100 hours. After a good two hours of more sailing, I got back to Skellige to decide the new leader of the isles. Yennefer wants to talk. There is a section of leveled forest that can lead us to Ciri.

103 hours. In order to get more info, we had to kill a garden I had previously visited. Some people were NOT happy. Also, the Baron's fugly pet popped up again.

104 hours. Talk got interrupted by yells in the main hall. Imma go check WHERE THE ♥♥♥♥ DID THESE BEARS COME FROM ?!?!

105 hours. CSI-ed the situation. Love the multiple mystery approach :) I know who is responsible but it was very well played.

106 hours. Long live the new ruler of Skellige blah blah Imma go clean up Novigrad from all them question marks.

108 hours. You wanna kill monsters fast ? Make them bleed, bleeding is super useful. Stumbled into the Hearts Of Stone expansion. They want me to investigate girls wanting to kiss frogs.

111 hours. Ι took a pic of a giant tower in the middle of the sea. I didn't know it was the island of mists. Might as well pay a visit.

113 hours. Taking the fight to the enemy needs allies. Djikstra told me to talk a long walk on a short pier. Keira has disappeared. I am getting serious Mass Effect 2 Suicide Mission vibes here.

115 hours. Thought I had reached the endgame, nope. Also, bedding Keira saves her life. ♥♥♥♥ with me if you want to live ?
