Best CoD in years

Can't recommend it at this time it's a laggy buggy mess.

Played for a few hours the first couple were co-op.
-Did a puzzle incorrectly and were forced to kill ourselves and redo the entire area
-invisible fog walls that the hosting player cant see but block the coop players
-Invaded by players that were way out of our level range which one shot us and barely took damage even after being parried and riposted
-spent majority of the time lost running in circles in areas filled with mobs that die in one hit

After my friends all gave up I tried to play a few more hours just to see if it got any better and it was just a thoroughly miserable time. Don't fall for this 2.0 marketing stunt, the foundations of this game are rotted and no amount of fresh paint could make it work. Praise were it's due for the art direction and combat though, the armor and areas are nice when you're not forced into the umbral mode where everything looks the same and the combat feels responsive but its trapped in a world that's a total slog to progress through.

Terrible UI, Terrible AI, No One More Turn

Recent update has fixed a lot of my issues regarding performance. Game will probably always be a 7/10 that you see potential in but I don't really have faith that it will ever reach the peaks it could anymore.

Do you remember playing games as a kid and making up stories as you go? Building forts in Halo forge and imagining the epic battles that would take place there? That's the experience Kenshi gave me, create some rad dudes with cool backstories, throw them into the world and watch the way the game just creates narratives for you. Every single person who's played this game has crazy stories they'd tell you.

"I was a criminal with a bounty on my head and tried to redeem myself by serving time. Before I was released the police sold me into slavery and I gave up on my hopes of an honest life. From that point on all I wanted was for the United Cities Burn"
"I'm a quadriplegic who lives in a hut with 6 women, I trained them all to be petty thieves to make me money"
"I played as an archaeologist hunting for relics, trying to piece together what really happened to this world"

All of these vastly different stories emerging from the same sandbox speaks volumes to it's insane potential and depth. That being said there is a bit of an esoteric learning curve and some time spent scouring wikis is going to be needed to understand some of the games systems. But put in some time and you'll be rewarded with a game that makes you feel like a little stupid giddy kid again.

A game that somehow makes the freedom of a hoverbike feel claustrophobic and restrictive.

That might’ve been a little harsh to say of a game in a technical beta but until they fix that underlying feeling the game won’t be able to get off its feet. The first thing that needs to go is the invisible wall at the top of every map, it makes the game feel like playing an RTS at 100% zoom. The lack of a minimap and how much of the screen is taken up by your bike only makes this problem worse.

Somehow has worse pathfinding than the original Warcraft III custom map. Check it out if its on sale but I wouldn't recommend it at its full price.

2/10 All my survivors keep complaining about things like "murder" and how "people will die because we stole their food, medicine and means of self defense" or how "you can't bash in the skulls of the elderly just because they have food"
