I cannot recommend this game to other players, even if it is fun to play. The main reason is they haven't fixed the crashing issue or the audio issue throughout the game. The items in the store are overpriced, and they're making more recolors and skins for popular characters rather than the other characters. Their black friday sale is literally just their normal discounts. The store itself only has like 8 items a week. And the gameplay has lended itself more towards third partying .

I like Path of Exile. I really do. It is a successor to the Diablo-style game, top down, taking on a bunch of monsters as an outcast with powers. The art is beautiful, the game is smooth, and it feels good when you have a character that can progress. The problem is this is one of the pretentious games with one of the most elitist communities you will ever come across.

Imagine if the quiz bowl team in high school acted like they were the stars of the football team. That's what this game is. How dare you not know exactly how much and what type of damage that boss in that T14 map does? Look it up on the wiki. Literally last year, an upvoted post on Reddit said something along the lines of "you idiots, can we stop pretending that this game isn't easy?", as if it's some party game. What boils down to, "have obscene, game-breaking amounts of damage, cap your resistances, have enough attributes, and play exactly this way" has the most obnoxious ways to try to achieve this. GGG makes a league every three months that aims to make you fail the game. 90% of the abilities are not viable, so there's no variety despite the passive tree that has over 200 passives that amount to, "all of these words mean different things; try to make it make sense." And forget about asking the community for help. They will basically tell you to screw yourself. Or, why didn't you think of this, you idiot, despite it not being viable for your build. Many of the past leagues are as unintuitive as you can possibly get. One of these leagues is supposed to reward you with different crafting benches and drops from specific characters, except the game doesn't tell you what those rewards are, at all. There isn't even a hint. You have to look at some stupid chart online that only tells you who gives what and where they give it, and not how you actually move them across the police bulletin board of lame.

You will spend between 5-7 hours (unless you're not one of those elitists), be punished for doing so, and then get to the "actual" game where only then will you have a hint of how your build is. If you want to join the cool club of lame, you will find a home here. If you're just a simple-minded pleb like me, you will be the exile.

By the way, go look at the reviews of the game that are critical, and members will put a clown face on it. That's the community you're joining.

I have recently been able to play Daylight, and I'm glad that I have. This game is like a good horror movie - well-paced, good timing and it finds the player rooting for the protagonist - whoever that appears to be. It's also very creepy. I currently do Let's Plays on YouTube (Flintsiders Productions), and I feel like game has been the source of the best videos I have done on there. Take in the environment and enjoy the ambiance as you connect the dots and find your way out of this place!
