This is genuinely an amazing game from top to bottom. It's fun challenge to play solo, it's good for achievement hunting and badge collecting, it's fun to just mess around with a group of friends and not take it too seriously, and the mechanics and movement style of the game make it feel organic every step of the way. Can't possibly recommend this game enough.

My friend fell down a hole in the Green Hat dorm basement, dying instantly, and he couldn't get out. I tried to help him by using the telekinesis spell on his corpse, but the range wasn't long enough. I tried throwing a health potion down, which did heal him, but he was still stuck at the bottom. My final course of action was to throw a missile directly down the pit which rocketed his now lifeless corpse up to the top where it slammed against the ceiling before falling back down on the floor so I could heal him.

This is possibly the funniest game that has ever been developed.

Some menu design is a bit overcomplicated, some small mechanics are a bit rough, models in newly loaded zones take a while to update their LODs, but I expect that will probably be fixed soon.

Don't believe all the idiots calling this game "spyware", the privacy policy is all 100% completely standard for live service games. Of course they need your Social Media info, you can link your Accounts. All the "we might need this" lines are only applicable based on local laws, etc.

With that out of the way, the game is honestly very fun; it's clearly a little rough around the edges, but there hasn't really been a moment where that has affected my ability to have fun. Base building is fun, guns are fun, crafting is fun, gathering doesn't feel like a slog, art design is incredible, and story is alright so far even though that's not really what I'm here for.

So far, I'd give it a 7.5/10

This game has a really great concept and a nearly seamless execution, and I was REALLY excited to give this game a shot as soon as it came out. I hopped on with some friends, we got used to the mechanics, and we had a generally great time looking forward to future games!
Fast forward a grand total of 48 hours, and I can no longer find a public lobby that isn't full of either sweaty tryhard hunters who shoot everything in the map with no consequence at all, or ghosts who do nothing but abuse bugs to clip into walls and hide outside the map. Both of these people will call you a "crybaby" if you are in any way frustrated by this development.

In short, the game itself is FANTASTIC, but the community that has adopted it is bent on being toxic and draining every last bit of fun out of the experience, so I cannot in good conscience recommend this game until there are some severe balancing changes made.

This game was STUNNING. The gameplay was well polished and thoroughly thought out, the sound design was stellar, the story and characterizations were incredible and kept me up at night, and I quite literally couldn't stop thinking about this game. This is the kind of game where it should be considered a cardinal sin to spoil ANYTHING about it, because this was a WILD ride. Strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a well polished, stylized game with far more to it than meets the eye.

I do not recommend this game in the current state. I realize that this game has been out and popular for a while, but hear me out.

The game's core concept is exceptional and has a STUPID amount of potential for one of the most entertaining and thrilling asymmetrical multiplayer games in recent years. The character models, sound design, and overall plan for this game is utterly incredible and the public draw that the game has is evidence enough of that. In early games, players will find themselves having an incredible time against fellow players where skills are truly tested and there is the usual mutual respect between teams to ensure that players have fun. Even though there are occasionally players that abuse some overpowered or imbalanced perks or addons, the general experience ends up being very fulfilling.

And then. You hit higher ranks.

As soon as you hit the top 5 ranks, either through skill or sheer gametime alone, this game takes an immediate turn for the worse. You can go hours, days and possibly even weeks, getting nothing but killers that abuse OP features, push the game to its unreasonable limit of poor sportsmanship for the purpose of denying players victory, even at their own detriment. It immediately becomes a game about tormenting people and stoking their own egos in this wild power trip of a game, and it has been like this since damn near the beginning.
This wouldn't be anywhere near as much of an issue if Behavior actually knew how to manage a community, but they don't. As I understand it, low ranks are heavily killer favored while high ranks are heavily survivor favored. While the logical course of action with this issue and such a robust community would be to split it between casual low ranking players and overly competitive players and then balancing them separately, Behavior has instead chosen to try to universally balance their game by repeatedly rolling out update after update that adds more and more broken and overpowered Killer perks, addons, and abilities to try to mitigate the in game favoring of survivors in high ranks. What this does, however, is absolutely ruin mid rank gameplay, and ward off new joiners to the game. Mid rank gameplay is almost exclusively filled with toxic killers who verbally abuse survivors in post game chat for being "bad" and how "they're just so good at the game" after running the most OP addons with the most OP perks on the most OP killer.

In the end, the idea of the game is great, but because of the Devs' inability or lack of desire to properly manage their community and balance their game, it pulls you in like a drug and then you just get locked into a toxic, awful community that does nothing but verbally abuse and mock players who aren't actively in the top skill and toxicity percentile.

Do not buy this game. You'll have fun, and then you'll feel locked in because maybe you'll have one more fun game eventually, and then you'll just end up raging at this game every time you play it wondering when it stopped being fun.

This game was INCREDIBLE. The gunplay was excellent, the pickup mechanics felt immersive and also effective, and movement rarely felt janky as long as I had my settings set up properly. Of course there were a few instances of enemies spawning out of nowhere or headcrabs disappearing into walls, but it only happened like... twice? In a ten hour playthrough? Pretty good honestly. Story was immersive and engaging as hell, level design was exceptional, and I was left feeling GIDDY after the ending. Highly recommend giving this game a shot.

Honestly, the only complaint I have about this game is that there isn't more of it. I finished the game in about 12 hours total, and honestly it felt a bit rushed, there wasn't much backstory on characters or landmarks, everything just kind of continuously happened without much buildup. On top of that, the campaign feels like it flies by in no time at all, and I'm left without a sense of satisfaction once I finished it.

That lack of satisfaction did not come from a desire for the game to be more fun, though. This game was INCREDIBLY fun. Despite having been made over 5 years ago, this game was probably the most fun game I've played all year. Every mission is over-the-top hilarious and fun, the gameplay works smoothly, character creation is astonishingly in-depth, the controls aren't ♥♥♥♥, etc. The first thing I did after finishing this game was look to see how expensive the other Saints Row games were. Hint: they're not very expensive and I'm going to buy them very soon.

Overall, highly recommend this game if you're looking for a fun, over-the-top FPS that makes you feel powerful and badass.

This game is truly amazing. I have almost 8 hours on record and I've almost beaten the game as far as I can tell. The level design is absolutely wonderful, the characters are incredibly unique, controls are intuitive and smooth, and it's honestly quite engaging and thrilling.

It plays very much like an oldschool Sonic game, just a momentum and speed based platformer, but it's a completely unique reskin with gradual challenge and interesting twists thrown in here and there. I plan to continue playing this game for a very long time and I am prepared to enjoy every second of it.

Highly recommend this, definitely worth the purchase.
