For a sequel, it's amazing that the developers keep doubling down on the game design decisions the players of the original game hate.

Bold strategy, don't recommend.

Game is fun, especially if you like playing the physical version but can't find time to play with others.

For those who haven't played the original, you create a party of characters based on Pathfinder fantasy archetypes. Your skills, spells, weapons, armor etc. are cards, and each turn you only have a random limited number of them to play. The clever part is that your card deck is also your life, if a character runs out of cards they die. Each class has varying ways to manage this by "recharging".

As for the game itself, the story is pretty basic and the campaign is lengthy. It gets a little repetitive once you build your core strategies and characters though, and there are quite a few bugs and annoyances with how cards interact with each other sometimes. I suppose there is replay value in trying all the classes and DLC characters etc, but after playing through the campaign once with my first party I don't think I want to continue. Still, it was worth picking up and I feel like I enjoyed the money I spent on it.

My first playthrough was an amazing experience. The game challenges you to make tough choices as the temperature, and hope continue to fall. The sense of desperation and challenge it provides are fantastic. Can't wait to play more 👍
