This game is peak. The boss fights are great, the combat is awesome and the sound and music put everything together. Absolutely loved it even when I was bashing my face against bosses over and over again.

Great game. The isometric metroidvania style worked well here and it was a ton of fun to play and explore. The combat and movement felt good and it had a great story that definitely did not make me cry during the credits.

Great game, easily my favorite non-Fromsoftware Soulslike. Fun combat, great environments and characters and a wonderful soundtrack. The only souls game that I actively did NG+ on because I could and enjoyed the game so much. Definitely worth giving your time to.

Fun game with an interesting world and combat mechanics. No real leveling up or stats to worry about just grab a weapon you like and get to fighting. The traversal mechanics were neat and the environments were great to experience. Boss fights were fun and none felt unbalanced or overwhelmingly difficult. Was able to 100% without much issue.

I will say as of this review there are still some bugs around achievements, none that keep you from getting them just if you did one and it didn't appear, just go to the courtyard that seemed to do it for me.

This game has a lot going for it but overall was an underwhelming experience. The art style and world look great and I was even sort of enjoying the lack of direction but the combat was eroding away the goodwill I had towards the game based on how other people viewed it.

The combat was just not fun, the dodge roll only sometimes went off, parry is fairly useless, and you can't change buttons while a button is in use so it is excessively complicated to even adjust the controls to fit my normal style of play. Even still I was soldering on trying to enjoy this game that everyone loves until I got to the part that made me quit.

Spoilers ahead.

The Gauntlet This part of the game made me quit, I tried it several times over a few days, giving myself a day in between to relax and de-stress from it but I just can't. I can't go back to the game knowing I have to deal with this required part of the game that is miserable and the most un-fun thing I've ever had to do. It killed the game for me and was a terrible decision by the devs.

This is a gorgeous game with some fun combat and absolutely fantastic movement as the game goes on. The only negative I have to say is there is the very end has a bit of a skill jump due to a change in a core mechanic. It's not game breaking and I was able to platinum the game in one save file which was nice.

The easiest way I can describe this game is that it is a precision platformer disguising itself as a metroidvania. Unlike The Messenger which is a metroidvania disguising itself as a precision platformer. I say that because at least in The Messenger you know what you're getting into in the first half of the game, so if you enjoy the platforming nature of the game then you'll enjoy it once you get full map exploration. But, in this game if you don't enjoy precision platforming, you don't know that is the core of the game until putting several hours into the game. And then it isn't even a good platformer, the hitboxes are wonky, the controls are floaty and the combat is just meh. The game looks nice and has an interesting story and wonderful soundtrack. But the bait and switch of the type of game it is and not even being an enjoyable platformer makes this a pass for me. I've tried playing it twice and this is going into my uninstall forever list.

Fun relaxing game that just lets you experience the joy of doing something oddly satisfying. 10/10 would recommend.

I've had issues with Souls games in the past and finding them a bit less than accessible due to the semi-linear nature they take. This game removes that road block and it's been amazing. I've beaten the game twice and I'm about to finish it a third time and I'm already excited to start a fourth play through. Definitely worth getting.

I played MH for the 3DS years ago once and didn't get it. Played it on PS4 and loved it but found it difficult. PC seems to be perfect though. Smaller screen size makes it much easier to dodge and notice monster cues compared to a TV. Lots of fun, interesting story, and wonderful locations and creatures to hunt!
