Baldur's Gate 3 is the new gold standard for RPGs

There are some sad stories that hurt and leave you empty, making you wonder what the point of it all was. Then there are some like in eden* that will break your heart but leave you with the feeling that your life is better off for having experienced it. eden* is a beautiful and tragic visual novel that must not be missed if you're a fan of the genre. Just be prepared for tears.

Side note: There is another version of the game elsewhere that includes tacked on h-scenes. They're post-game stuff and completely unnecessary so don't worry about the Steam version not having it.

This game hit me like a punch to the stomach. It's like a perfect simulation of my college social experience.

Everlasting Summer is definitely one of the most memorable VNs I've played in a while. I absolutely recommend it to fans of the genre. What sets it apart, for me, is that it actually has a storyline that attempts to give an in-game explanation for the visual novel game mechanics that encourage you to replay multiple times to experience the different routes. And replay you should, as this VN has a definitive end that you can only get by completing all the "good" routes. Not to mention there's one route that was pretty terrifying. I came for feels, not for scares! ^_-

One last thing: Go to the official website and get the "hentai" patch. It reintroduces artwork that was censored out for the Steam release. Despite the name, the reintroduced scenes are still pretty censored, but it's better than the screen fading to black.

Loved this game so much. Easily my favorite game of 2013.
