Hey we just took $120+ dollars from you for a game that had issues.
We have since spent the last few months getting it up to a playable state ... not all good yet but close to where it should have been before we released it.
But I think we are needing more money now ... here's a DLC for $45+ containing 4 more civilizations.
And don't you worry, we will keep these DLCs coming and coming and coming. Just keep handing us your money.

If that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Stay away.
I should have.

If you've played The Movies before, this is similar but not the same.
I do enjoy the game BUT there are some weird quirks in the UI, weird slowdowns when the tutorial is trying to guide you through the game.
It is early access after all and the game is playable. You will however be left with the undeniable feeling that a lot of it is incomplete or not fully fleshed out.
Some of the game mechanics aren't properly explained either.
People that you can hire don't seem to scale with where you are in the game, so if you hire someone late in the game, you're stuck with training them up.
Don't like your first employee? Too bad, it's too painful to dismiss them and hire someone else. Guess you're going to be stuck with him/her.

With all that said ... this game has scratched an itch. Will definitely be keeping an eye on this as it develops.

I almost ... 99.9% never ever finish games that I start.
I play them for a couple of hours, weeks then I lose interest.

So it with great pride that I award Divinity: Original Sin the award of "First Game Played to Completion in my 37 years of gaming".

Right now I am pondering whether to play it again to achieve all the achievements OR to head straight to Divinity: Original Sin 2.

Play it. You won't regret it.

Love this game.
Music is calming and I can spend hours micro-managing how I want my city to look like or just step back and watch how it grows.

Played this game back in 2015. Reinstalled in 2018.
I have to say, I still enjoy the game as much as when I first played it. Ignore the mixed reviews, if you're in doubt and play Massive Chalice, there is definitely a game there to engross you.

If you're looking for an easy to win game, this is NOT it.
Some choices you make, will set you down paths that sometimes have disastrous consequences. (ie. ending up with an entire Keep of infertile trainees)
There's also always the possibility that you'll lose your Relics, so constant planning of your Bloodlines is required.
The game demands that you make some trade-offs. Will you focus your research on weapons/armor or items?

Do you marry a Regent and partner because of their fertility rate and hence allow undersirable traits and personalities to creep into the Bloodlines OR do you try to nurture the best traits and personalities and deal with less manpower in your Kingdom?

Anyway if you're taking on this journey, here are some tips,
1) You'll need Relics. (you get these by using a character to gain kills till he garners a nickname and when he dies, his weapon becomes a Relic, which then gets passed on to his Bloodline, which you get to nominate)
2) Try to spread out your focus instead of going for all Hunters etc. Different classes handle different mobs more efficiently.
3) Try to hand Relics to younger Heroes so that they have more time to build up their skills.
4) Sagewright Guild is really useful for speeding up research, set it up early.
5) The Crucible helps all trainees gain EXP even when they are not fighting, useful but I'd do it after the Sagewrights.
6) Try to avoid traits like Puny for your caberjacks or Weak for your alchemists. In the former, they can't hit high dmg and in the latter they can't throw their flasks for great distances.

Happy playing!

Love this game. Wish they would keep adding stuff to it. Still it is good as it is, definitely worth your money!

Read the mixed reviews, decided to try it for my own.
My thoughts: Kind of like the game in the sense that I'm always striving to play another turn, akin to the way I feel when I'm in a game of X-com or Civ. I do feel constrained by the cap space and having to renew adventurer contracts over and over again. Also dislike the fact that there aren't enough portals to setup at every town, hence forcing you to spend turns wandering around. These facets of the game though, I can bear with them in the understanding that they are setting up the game environment, forcing you into choices. My biggest bugbear would be the time limitation. Once you get to the pinnacle of being the epic manager, you are thrown into a challenge that (for me) was way out of my league. Would've loved a sandbox version to be honest, allowing me to just potter on without that challenge at the end.

Early Access Review
Paladins has provided me with hours of fun. Is the game perfect at the moment? No it's not.

Here's what is wrong with the game at the moment;
1) Servers are prone to going down and if they stay up tend to result in laggy games, weirdly delayed chats or even disappearing chat windows.
2) The game is suffering because of the abundance of AFK players and the lack of a way to deal with them.
3) Matchmaking is not balanced. You can be grouped against players that are way out of your league and the result is the expected stomp. Honestly, this happens way too often for my liking.
4) Lack of a persistent chat window resulting in lost messages and constant wondering if your message got through or do you have to retype what you just said.

That said. Is the game fun when it gets going? It is, very much so!
Battles are frenetic and a lot of fun.
Characters have varied skills, you'll be sure to find one that'll cater to your playstyle.
Games usually last between 10 to 30 mins, making it easy to squeeze in a game from time to time.
