The pinnacle of the Monster Train franchise, which is one of the best roguelike deckbuilders around. There is a huge number of viable build possibilities, and a large amount of planning is required for the specific challenges on each run. Easily one of the best deckbuilders around. Highly recommended.

The easiest GOTY pick I've made. Tactical Breach Wizards creates the perfect mix of humor, strategy, and puzzles. If you're a fan of the tone and gameplay found in Gunpoint, you'll enjoy it.

Early Access Review
Easily one of, if not the, best survivors-like game available.

I'm giving this a positive review, but it comes with some caveats. Overall, it's a reasonable entry in the genre. Everything that's there is well-executed, if somewhat uninspiring. If you're in the market for another auto-shooting survival rogue-lite, this will do nicely, but it's a very crowded genre, and there are a number of other games that will suit just as nicely.

However, the developer is extremely responsive to the players, and seems engaged with the community. The developer's behavior and attitude are well worth encouraging and supporting.

TL;DR: It's a solid, if somewhat by-the-numbers genre game that will likely improve thanks to excellent developer communication.

A game so good it spawned an entire genre of auto-firing arena survival roguelikes, Vampire Survivors still stands as the pinnacle of the genre. While each run may only take 30 minutes, the game is peak "one more run," making it easy to sink hundreds of hours into. Still one of the greatest games on the Deck, it's easily worth every penny.

One of the greatest roguelikes of all time, a fantastic blend of outstanding music, tight controls, interesting builds, fluid combat, and gorgeous style. The game still receives regular updates and new additions four years after release. A worthy investment for fans of the genre and newcomers alike.

Early Access Review
One year into Early Access, and this is likely the best EA experience I've had; the dev is responsive and communicative, updates are consistent and frequent, and content is added regularly.

If you're a fan of roguelike deckbuilders, this is one of the best in the genre; it sits alongside Monster Train and Slay the Spire as the gold standard of this style of game. Even in its current Early Access state, it already has more content and polish than numerous others in the genre. An absolutely fantastic game.

Absolutely fantastic game, and one of the best rogue-like card games, period. Devs have been remarkably consistent, releasing significant content updates. There are myriad possibilities and clan combinations, as well as workshop support for mods. A bargain at any price.

Early Access Review
I was initially skeptical when they announced that the second entry in the series would be in 3D, as I was a huge fan of the first game and was nervous about changes to the formula. But Hopoo Games has handled the transition brilliantly. The game looks fantastic, and the multiplayer works wonderfully. Despite the change in perspective, the game feels like the first one, so fans of the first game will feel right at home. This is one of the best and most complete Early Access titles I've played, and one of the best rogue-lite titles out there. I strongly recommend this title to anyone who's on the fence.

Slay the Spire has provided an unbelievable amount of entertainment. Even though it's in Early Access, it's easy to lose hundreds of hours playing it. Modding can expand that number significantly, as well.

The game is a run-based, deck-building rogue-lite. You select from one of three classes that begin with a starting deck of 10-12 cards. As you progress through the map, you choose which rooms to visit, attempting to climb up 50 floors to reach the final act. Each room can contain shops, events, combats, or campfires, where you can choose to rest and restore HP or upgrade a card. Winning a combat will give you three cards to choose from to add to your deck (or you can skip the rewards), and elite enemies will also provide a relic, which offer a variety of passive bonuses.

The developers have continued to support the game with quality content. The mechanics are simple to learn, but provide immense depth and strategic possibilities, both in combat and deck-building. The devs have been responsive and communicative, with updates and patches being delivered regularly. Overall, the game is tremendously fun and highly recommended.
