God, this game is so fun, I beat it twice! Second time was for the advanced training (which I highly recommend doing as practice before trying on the first mountain, because, trust me, struggling with both your climbing ineptitude AND resource management is painful)
I have been waiting for this game for quite a while, ever since I first played Furi, and I gotta say, it delivers. It looks stunning and the controls work well. I mean that, but at the same time, good luck doing this without manual limb control. It's fine if you're climbing straight up, but otherwise, it quickly turns into a game of "click quickly till you get the limb you need" and you slip and absolutely crush your healthbar. Speaking of manual control, it avoids accidentally misplacing your limbs, but it takes time to scroll to pick the limb you need, so a keybind of sorts for each limb would make gameplay much more efficient.
Overall, really cool game, can't wait to see the finished product ^^

TL;DR: A great action game that's worth picking up, 8/10


I grabbed this game up during a sale since I heard some praise from it, a few years after the original game came out in 2011. Thing is, I grew up watching a lot of old Chinese movies. For me, it definitely hits the mark, with tons of (sometimes blatant) references to those classic movies, especially with the DLC content, and it does a really great job of nailing the atmosphere, the characters, and the action elements. I must admit, the side missions are a bit boring, but I found myself doing them anyway; either way, I'd say the main storyline more than makes up for it. I don't like the ending, mostly because of what it did to Pendrew, it felt rushed, and ruins a lot of the good set-up the story does early on.
Apart from that, it was very fun to play, and I don't think I'll ever get bored of the fighting mechanic when I think of replaying it. It taught me something very important as well: A man who never eats pork buns is never a whole man!
