This is not a visual novel, but a movie, or...kino...if you will. That's the only game I bought twice out of sheer appreciation of what it is.

The way almost every scene is cleverly animated, how the sprites blend into those scenes, and how the sounds are used - I’ve never seen anything like it. Each of these small details is so well done that the overall presentation feels unlike anything else.

Besides the insane production quality, the story itself is passionately written in a way that makes both the action-heavy and lighthearted scenes equally engaging to read. I would even say that the main appeal of this game's story lies in these moments between the characters, where they just get to talk to each other earnestly. This tale is not about fighting or magic at its core (though those aspects are great too), but rather about understanding the people around you - and, most importantly, yourself.

The game, of course, wouldn’t work without characters as well-written as they are here. I adore the main trio and their dynamics so much! The antagonist is also a beautiful yet tragic character you have no trouble understanding. Even the side characters are really interesting - especially in the so-called “filler” chapters (I’m not sure why they’re optional, they’re a must-read!).

As a cherry on top, all of this is accompanied by a masterpiece of a soundtrack that sets the tone for the whole game perfectly. You’ll find a wide variety of tracks here - from well-known Classical pieces to melodic Trance. What I love most about it is that you don’t even need to read the novel to feel how good and emotional it is, which is part of the reason why I picked up the game in the first place. It goes without saying that the soundtrack hits even harder once you hear it in the game itself. Even as I write this review, the game is still open on my PC because I’m listening to Soujuurou’s theme, trying not to tear up…

In conclusion, this review is perhaps slightly (lol) biased, but I really can’t praise this game enough for what it has shown me.

Let us continue the tale, someplace, when a bright, roaming star drops from the sky into your lap.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for sharing this long journey with us.
