Sure would be nice if the artists who spent years working on this game got credited for it, maybe in the form of a screen or six listing out their names!

You know, like is standard for every other game.

I bought this in early access and enjoyed it, but I can't recommend it while they don't give credit to the people who worked on it.

Early Access Review
Let me start this review with some frank honesty: this is a true early access game and, unless I miss my guess, built by a fairly small team. If you are hoping to play something polished, you will want to come back to this later.

The survival-crafting genre is fairly large and contains a great deal of variants, so here are some more subjective aspects of the game:
-Crafting and building is far and away the biggest driver of the game--exploration and combat feel more secondary to building and making upgrades. If you enjoy a crafting ladder, then you will probably enjoy this game! If you are more into exploring and hunting, it's a little iffier.
-Granular Systems: the crafting and combat systems both have a bunch of fiddly pieces, from damage types to hit locations in combat to a truly nitty gritty crafting system. Again, if you like things to be crunchy, you may enjoy this, but if you don't want to spend time with this, you might want to pass.

Pros:
+The game is stunningly beautiful, even on my panini press of a computer, and while the facial models are a little potato-esque, I see a lot of room for potential improvement, and the bones are promising.
+the lore is promising, and Puck is an appropriately obnoxious jackass of a goat. 10/10 did their homework.
+the concept is a fresh take on a post-apocalyptic genre, with a time period I don't often see in survival games. Fans of Failbetter Games may have a great time with this one.

Cons:
--the game does not currently do a very good job at explaining it's very granular systems, and is quite unforgiving about figuring them out at any difficulty above easy.
--I would prefer a little more freedom in the building controls, particularly ways to swap out wall styles without dismantling an entire building.
--combat is VERY swingy, and goes from so easy the granularity doesn't matter or punishingly difficult with little guidance
--this is less a con and more of a personal note, but I would prefer more camera controls in third person mode or an ability to adjust the FOV in first person to help mitigate motion sickness.

Overall, the game is very obviously unfinished and has some of that classic early access Jank we all know and feel some kind of way about, but it has the bones of something spectacular, and if you don't mind the rough entry, it's well worth giving a shot. If you don't quite love spending hours building unnecessarily elaborate home bases, give this 3-6 months and check back on their progress.

Charming, relaxing, accidentally went into a fugue state and played for 12 hours straight. Nice to fantasize about being outside without getting sick. 10/10.

I died three times to an angry horse and then my cat saved me from a dragon. 10/10 most ridiculous thing I've played.
